'Quick cook Spaghetti"

Really? 4 minutes? Like 10-12 was too long?

My family might die of starvation unless I shave 6 minutes off my cooking time?

Well no. Family now starving for longer as I've had to bin 220g of mush and start again with the 'slow' cook old-fashioned stuff.

Yes, we’ve picked up the ‘quick cook’ stuff before by mistake. It’s just thinner, so as you say, ends up as mush.

We love the quick cook pasta, but haven't seen it on Tesco or Asda for months now.

Where did you find it OP?

Florissante · 08/06/2023 19:44

I've never heard of 'quick cook' pasta. Regular pasta doesn't take that long.

HoldingTheDoor · 08/06/2023 19:45

I love quick cook pasta. Only Sainsbury's brand though.

HoldingTheDoor · 08/06/2023 19:46

I don't find it goes to mush though but I keep an eye on it. I tried Tesco's before and found that can change to cooked from over cooked very quickly though but even then that was probably my fault for leaving it a little too long.

If you're cooking pasta for 10-12 minutes I imagine that must be pretty mushy.

Choice4567 · 08/06/2023 19:48

I was skimming through the titles and read this as

quick, cook spaghetti!

I came on to see what the emergency was that could be solved by cooking spaghetti!

Quick cook spaghetti is very handy for shared kitchens.

If 10 mins isn't important to you, then you don't have to buy it.

If you're one of 6 people trying to use one stove, it means someone gets their meal an hour sooner.

Just boil normal spagetti for 4 mins and leave in the pan with no heat for a few minutes.
