Best tablet?

Want to get my 7 year old a tablet. We can't afford iPad prices. Something that he can pay games on, watch Netflix, Disney, you tube kids on.

Any recommendations please?

The Amazon Kindle fire is pretty good for kids and does all you want it to do

I agree that the Amazon Kindle is a decent starter tablet for that age.

You get what you pay for though, it's not too of the range and it's not fast......but you can watch TV shows, listen to audio books, play games etc

My advice .....buy refurbished or in Amazon sales for best pricing, get one with a bit more memory as then it's great for travel as you can download plenty of shows and movies, and unless your child is the world's biggest clutz don't go for the kids version. It's several times more expensive so you'd have to break the original 4 or 5 times to justify it if you get a tablet in the sale.
