Neighbours party

It’s nearly 11.30, the house behind have been having an all day party. However is still going strong, think loud music, people singing along at the top of their voices and just general loud and boisterous behaviour. It’s hot here and coukf do with the windows open, but the noise is bad enough with the windows closed. Am I s grumpy git for finding this a bit excessive? Or should I be more tolerant due to the nice weather and I know they have just spent a fortune on their house, extending and landscaping the garden. Should I just chill and let them enjoy it?

Yes, sorry, I think chill on this one. Hope they stop soon though and you do get some sleep!

Pteryl · 03/06/2023 23:26

If it’s one time, I’d just let it go.

KarmaStar · 03/06/2023 23:26

Yanbu that's really selfish.
If it's a one off I'd just put ear plugs in and go to bed.
If it's a regular thing,contact council.

Toottooot · 03/06/2023 23:27

Wooptie fucking ping 💁🏻‍♀️

Postbox87 · 03/06/2023 23:27

If its a one off, grin and bear it!

AzureBlue99 · 03/06/2023 23:35

I think you are worried it is going to be a regular thing. If you knew it was a one off or a rare thing, you would not have posted. That's understandable. Fingers crossed they are just christening their new house. If they do keep doing it, that's a different matter. For now, just stick the ear plugs in and forget about it.

Colourmylifewith · 03/06/2023 23:37

ok, so I’m maybe being unreasonable! It’s put me in a bad mood coz my DCs are still not asleep!! Windows closed and trying to get them off 😴 hopefully it won’t become a regular thing!! Just thought they might have moved it indoors by now!!!

My son and neighbour popped over to request the party goers turned the music down just a bit..they came home 3 hours later....

SpinMeRightRoundBabyRightRound · 03/06/2023 23:42

Are you one of my neighbours? I was fine with it up till about 10 but it’s so hot and I can’t have the windows open as it’s keeping DS awake.

They’ve just moved in and I’m hoping it’s a party for that and not an every Saturday night thing…

HAHA! I did that too once!

Forgetmenott · 03/06/2023 23:48

I’d be narked too. I don’t do that to my neighbours, not even as a one off. Because I’m considerate and a decent neighbour.

Irritateandunreasonable · 03/06/2023 23:49

Really very annoying but if it’s a one off I would leave it.

If it’s still going on in an hour maybe send the police round then.

santastolemycat · 03/06/2023 23:55

my neighbors are the same. allways the same house and allways when the sun has been out.
They are having a gathering just now. It’s loud but i’m quite a heavy sleeper so it doesn’t bother me too much.
My DH on the other hand is in the spare room as he can’t sleep unless its total silence but its too hot to close the windows.
Last time dads started playing football in the garden at midnight. My DH promptly shouted out the window for them to shut the fuck up!

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 03/06/2023 23:55

Are you my neighbour? We also have a party 3 doors down. Driving me up the wall and keeping my kids awake. Ffs.

Ihatethenewlook · 03/06/2023 23:59

Toottooot · 03/06/2023 23:27

Wooptie fucking ping 💁🏻‍♀️

Could you translate that into English please? If it was you knackered in bed then I’d bet it would fuck you off.

JudyGeller · 04/06/2023 00:04

You’re not in a wee village in the west of Scotland by any chance op? There’s a party going on and every time you think they have went in they start roaring again. Just had to shut DD’s window she couldn't sleep because of it bloody inconsiderate arseholes!!

RhosynBach · 04/06/2023 00:07

I’d let it go if it’s a one off. I know your annoyance though. My neighbours have regular parties in their bloody hot tub where they then have to shout to be heard over the hot tub. It’s so irritating when it’s midnight and I just want to sleep

Redglitter · 04/06/2023 00:13

If it’s still going on in an hour maybe send the police round then

Or maybe do the more sensible thing & ask them to turn it down first. Phoning the police is a bit un necessary

Growlybear83 · 04/06/2023 00:13

I don't think it's unreasonable to have a party that's still going on at midnight or 1 am on a Saturday night, so long as it's not happening each week.

Stripedbag101 · 04/06/2023 00:35

It’s a lovely day - let them enjoy it.

I have neighbours who have a band. They are really good and we’re rehearsing all day. I couldn’t sit in my garden because they played then same intro to the same song for two hours - I was ready to boil my head! But they don’t do it very often and if I want to throw a wild party some time they can’t complain😊

Zonder · 04/06/2023 08:07

I would have been fine with it up to about 11.30 then I'd want it to quieten down. I hope it didn't go on too late.

Monkeynuts57 · 04/06/2023 14:21

What time did it finish? If it was a one off or not an everyday occurrence I’d just grin and bear it! I hope it doesn’t turn into a weekly/monthly thing for you and rest of your neighbours sake
