to be annoyed that my brother just doesnt get skint

for ds's birthday db got him a t shirt. he ordered 2 but only one turned up as the other one is out of stock.
he said no probs he will order him another one. all the ones on amazon are out of stock. so I said oh there is one on metalhammer that he wants. price is right.
but db wants me to order it as he is not sure of site!!
trouble is we are skint and not using our debit card for anthything we don't HAVE to.
db know we are skint yet still seems to think we can magic up money untill he sends the cheque(I know that he can send cheque then we order it) but he NEVER seems to get it.

2shoes - I know what you mean. Is he sans kids by any chance? Some people mean well but don't have any idea unless you spell it out. Will he be ok if you explain that you have no spare funds to do this?

I have a very good friend whi constantly says she is skint but is always off on holiday. I had to explain what my version of skint was and she was visibly shocked.

i had a friend like this. i always felt that she looked down on me. then i found out she was £30,000 in debt.

Sounds like my family.
They expect me to have money because of DLA/CA/etc but they don't understand that I'm paying as much as I can to get myself out of debt by the time I'm 30.
They all live on credit. Loans, store cards, credit etc.

But i think he thinks cos we get dla and carers and stuff like that we are loaded
I wish.
he does this at christmas. says oh you get their presents and I will send a cheque. then I have to wait ages.
to be fair he would do it if it was amazon but he is a bit precious about using other sires. even though i have told him it is metal hammer and it is a good magazine.

oh and no he doesn't have kids.

2shoes, by (lovely) bil and his wife don't get it either. They both have high earning jobs and no kids. They know we are skint but don't really comprehend it.

i don't think you 'get' skint until you are skint.
