Trying to shift a couple of stone.
I eat v healthily, but probably too much, I don’t work out normally, but have started again.
I’m a person who has to cut back a lot and not eat much/work out daily to stay slim.
In the past when I was v slim, I went to the gym and had less carbs & smaller portions. I’m trying fasting also.
I’ve had no breakfast, just got in from school run, morning work and walking the dog.
Is this too much?
There’s two tins of tuna and two crackers, the rest is just salad? Assuming that’s okay?
Dinner is broccoli, cauliflower, carrots & chicken, piece of fruit afterwards.
I’m attempting to cut right back on carbs, my portions seem big though 😂but I’m hungry
Desperate to lose weight

@ocs30 Have you ever heard people say 'I just pigged out!'

Saying that some people do this, some of the time, and calling it 'gluttonous' does not in any way detract from the quality of work I do. I do not work with people who want to lose weight. I did pick up your passive aggressive tone there!

It was a comment based on observations of people and I think you'd struggle to find anyone who didn't confess to 'pigging out' at some point.

Well that's interesting because it wasn't an attempt to be passive-aggressive, it was a genuine question. Were you being PA when you asked @Pollis the same?

Yes, of course people say that, but I think the larger point was that there's 'pigging out' in many different contexts. There's someone who is about to modify what they eat in order to make up for that, but there's also someone with a real issue over control who does that regularly in a way that is self-sabotaging their weight or, even worse, putting their health at risk. In those instances, yeah, I'd see a psychological issue over gluttony, but that's just my take on it. I think it was you who mentioned your mother's friends who are diabetic having tea? I mean, surely there's something psychological in someone who has a serious, potentially life-threatening condition that could be managed with diet not being able to do so? And that's without getting into issues of poverty, ultra-processed food (addictive qualities) etc.

And, in my experience, so anecdotally only, people who are extremely restrictive about food, with lots of musts and shoulds and should-nots, do tend to be those who end up losing control.

Hi OP,

I'm having a tuna salad today and it's filling. You might not be able to see everything but it contains a small tin of tuna in brine, avocado, cherry tomatoes, chickpeas, Bean sprouts, grated carrot, artichoke hearts, spinach , peppers, beetroot and a bit of corn. It keeps me full for a good few hours with the chickpeas and bean sprouts included. Thought I'd post to give you an idea for a more filling salad without having to use two cans of tuna.
