My DH bought himself 2 cases of beer...

My DH has been out all day on his man's secret MN hobby (you will never guess). He walked in after being out for 6 hours, obviously having come home via the shops, carrying 2 cases of beer for himself.
I said excitedly 'oooh! What did you get for me?'

Silence.

He's just sheepishly told me that he will make dinner this evening.
😆

The question is what beer is it? I'd love my oh to walk in with 2 slabs of Budweiser right now Grin

Or maybe even some decent beer, had my late OH brought home Budweiser it would have been an LTB situation!

One of these days an errant husband will walk in with a dozen cans of Pimms and lemonade, a bag of ice and a cucumber and all will be right with the world.
In the interim, if it isn't Old Speckled Hen LTB 😀

CANS of Pimms? Another LTB situation!

When are you taking a whole day to yourself?

She's just had one.....

No mention of kids...

Daffodilsandtuplips · 29/05/2023 20:24

Enjoy your cold beer op. Ignore the fun sponges. My DH’s tipple is San. Miguel. It used to be Grolch but can’t get it here now. Well you can get cans but he prefers draft.

Dryshampoofordays · 29/05/2023 20:26

I was trying to nap in the garden this afternoon and a drone flew overhead, I couldn’t relax with it buzzing about, very annoying. An innocent hobby by someone who probably meant no harm and was just having a lovely time on his own. But still, pretty selfish to please yourself without a thought about your impact on anyone else. Could it have been your husband op??Hope he’s made something you like for tea! 😆

What a selfish wanker. I'd of made him go back out for a bottle of wine.

🙄

Is it Bird Spotting?

TheHateIsNotGood · 29/05/2023 23:35

What's he cooked for dinner whilst you were lounging around drinking 2-3 of his beers?

Make sure it's a 6-bottle case of pink champagne for your return home tomorrow, that means you can share it with DH with a few left over to store next to/on top of his beer.

And bring home a take-away for dinner - so no sheepish, apologetic cooking from you.

As important as not taking life too seriously (for all the snarky, sarky MNers) is the necessity to be a step ahead.

Jeez the heat must be getting to people today lol. I don’t like beer, so I would be like where’s the cider? The same would happen the other way round, though he would drink the beer and the cider.
Hobby- golf? Those re-enactment things? Beer drinking? Football?

Oooh, yes to the re-enactment thingy! Sat at a cafe Saturday morning and a group of guys with the air of Custer about them (you know, moustaches 'n stuff😁) wandered past, re-enactment was myfirst thought. Otherwise, model trains, coarse fishing, face painting for beginners ...

PyjamaFan · 30/05/2023 09:08

Good morning all!

Thank you to those of you who didn't take this too seriously.

To answer a couple of questions...

We made dinner together, we had griddled fennel, green salad, hard boiled eggs and bread. Delicious!

And his hobby? Beekeeping! Which means lots of lovely honey. 🙂

Can you please tell us his choice of beer so we can decide if he's a sociopath? Judging by your choice of meal, he probably is Wink

PyjamaFan · 30/05/2023 09:18

😆

He bought a box of Guinness and a box of Brewdog Hazy Jane. I pinched a Hazy Jane.

Dinner sounds delicious and he sounds quite cool [apart from the beer debacle of course!]

PyjamaFan · 30/05/2023 09:26

He is very cool, and lovely and very generous usually, which is why I was so surprised!

What a non event

FoxtrotOscarFoxtrotOscar · 30/05/2023 12:41

Must be golf.
Or he was trying to land a massive carp.

Indoorcatmum · 30/05/2023 12:50

If my DH went to the shop and didn't think to bring me back anything I would be a bit hurt. We always get the other a treat, even if his treat is whisky and he grabs me some Doritos or ice cream etc.

It's about the fun of sharing something nice and feeling cared about!

MooMooSharoo · 30/05/2023 14:23

I suspect it will be the first and only time your DH does it!

I have similarly shamed my DH with his own selfishness. Such as when I'm serving up dinner and he'll go and get himself a knife and fork from the drawer and not think about me. "Am I eating with my hands tonight then?"

There's no malice in it - he's just a typically blinkered man that lived on his own for too long and got stuck in his ways. I call him out on it every single time he does it now - it's the only way. He doesn't get offended or arsey, and does do it less and less as time goes by.

On the flip side, when I have got home and DH has bought either wine or flowers, I'm immediately suspicious!

Never satisfied! 😂

I'm curious what the deleted posts were saying (I do denounce them).

Salad, eggs, bread, all good. But fennel? Why would you do that to yourself, for the love of all that's holy?

PyjamaFan · 30/05/2023 15:21

I don't know what the deleted posts said although it seems that my situation made a few people very angry for some reason. Not enough drama for them I don't think.
