Feeling pretty stressed at the moment - how do you deal with things when you are stressed? Any tips much appreciated!

I’ve learned the hard way that the only way to deal with it is by being proactive rather than reactive. Which means putting good habits in place during the ‘good’ times, such as regular meditation, diet, exercise, sleep hygiene, and these will put you in better position to deal with stress, or even prevent it occurring. Can start even if you’re in the midst of it right now, getting out into nature for a walk can help, also mindful breathing exercises to calm you down and a shower or a nice bath.

I talk things over with someone. They often come up with solutions I'd never thought of, either practical solutions to reduce the stress or ways that I can destress. Just talking things through seems to pop the bubble of stress a bit.

Agree with PP about self care - sleep, healthy eating, cut the alcohol, rest.

I too find meditation useful. Thinking about others, whilst praying on beads for twenty minutes is relaxing to me.

Lose myself in a good film or TV series.
Escapism always helps me unravel.
And comedy.

Agree with everything in this post. If you get the basics right and in order things are less likely to affect you as much. Easier said than done, I know. I sometimes struggle to maintain good habits at times of stress but I have learned the hard way!

Does anyone else have work stress sometimes, where everything that needs to be done just feels overwhelming?!
