Schofield saga-to think this is all very odd?

It’s very confusing.
Rumours have been circulating for three years, even I knew the rumours, how on earth did Holly and others not?
He says there was no injunction, so the boy could have spoken out at any time..so why is it all coming out now?? Why has Holly suddenly distanced herself, why have itv got rid of him now?
They've now said the boy was 15 when they met (sure was younger?) and nothing happened until he was older, nothing illegal but still massively wrong. But if there is nothing illegal and they all knew about it…why now?
Why has P.S been so willing to go along with it this week?

This feels like a cover up for something much much worse?

Tonight Holmes - who previously presented This Morning but now works for GB News - will hold a no-holds-barred interview about Schofield and the culture on ITV's This Morning with MailOnline columnist and presenter Dan Wootton.

It comes as Schofield admitted on Friday that he had lied about his relationship with a much younger male colleague, plunging ITV meltdown, losing millions of pounds of sponsorship deals in the aftermath.

The pair, who will speak in a two-hour exclusive interview at 9pm, have pledged to tell 'the real story' behind Schofield's affair with a younger ITV colleague and the culture at This Morning.

GB News will be fun and games tonight then.

Well…I guess we know where tomorrow’s headlines will come from

Elior · 29/05/2023 20:38

That young man definitely gives off Liam Payne vibes.

GB News will get their viewing figures up. Maybe they'll have 100 viewers.

I'll wait for the twitter summary I think.

Has Schofield been moonlighting as a rogue parking firm attendant in Bristol?

Theres a direction I didn’t see this going, revelations-wise? 🤣

This person has been posting bizarre stuff throughout the thread, I don’t know if they’ve been trying to derail the thread with random stuff or are genuinely unwell.

Yes, it's on all the PS threads, derailing, a lot of it incoherent.

IncomingTraffic · 30/05/2023 08:09

That particularly derailment seems particularly bizarre. ‘We were warned to look out for this’ then a sad face article about airport parking.

OrbandSpectacle · 30/05/2023 08:21

TBF I think what is meant is that news items are sometimes underneath another story to allude to something meaningful to the story above.

There was something about HW car being stolen but found, in other threads. Although I cannot recall the details.

RedToothBrush · 30/05/2023 08:49

Except the position of news articles on the DM website changes regularly throughout the day, often on the basis of numbers of clicks rather than a grand conspiracy theory to allude to something else. They drop hints within articles without the need to do this. The jokes over adjacent articles is something for print not online. Online is more a feature of accident and what gets most clicks with the audience.

That is what I wondered, as people pointed out that the Mail does this.

Someone doesn't understand my sense of humour and nuance, a Pope gif and link to pearl clutching at accusations of pontificating and pear clutching or references to ITV being a totalitarian state with alternative stories like OZ/wicked and double meanings.

If I cared what others though of me I would pretend to agree even when I did not - sosomeone did not call me names, there are many totalitarian aspects going on.

Troll hunting because she can't bully me she has been name calling me because she can't agree to disagree.

RedToothBrush · 30/05/2023 10:01

It's not troll hunting to point out someone is trying to push conspiracy theories about how the daily mail places articles on their website.

IncomingTraffic · 30/05/2023 10:05

Maybe it would simply be better if you explained things though.

How on earth did you expect anyone to know what you meant in linking a completely unrelated story? We aren’t inside your head so we can’t possibly know what you mean unless you tell us.

People will get annoyed and suspicious about that sort of thing. Especially where distraction tactics to curtail discussion of a topic has been identified as a topic.

OCarumba · 30/05/2023 10:24

Yeah look your posts are annoying. They’re not adding anything to the thread, and you’re not engaging meaningfully with the OP or other posters. So I think it’s actually totally fair to say you have some other agenda, although it’s not clear what that is.

If it’s not the case that your posts are deliberately intended to derail the thread (at least some cynical logic to that), then you seem unwell to be honest.

Does this happen a lot with these sorts of topics? It’s fascinating as well that all these threads have suddenly popped up like: ‘I’m in a loving relationship, however I was 18 and my DP was 10 years older when we met – is it wrong?’

I suppose really the question is why wouldn’t someone use whatever means at their disposal to steer the conversation in a way that’s favourable.

It's a thing.

Some people have argued it's Russian bots in the past. Or paid posters for various powers.

I don't. I don't think there's a need. I think there's plenty of people who have 'seriously wacky ideas' and views of the world.

They are fun to talk to in real life.

My fav one recently was the guy in the pub who claimed he worked for Russia Today and was vehemently anti-capitalist. Two concepts that are so bonkers in their lack of coherent thought it made for an entertaining lunch.

BreadInCaptivity · 30/05/2023 18:12

Allegations now from the DM that ITV paid the young man off after the awards debacle....

Schofield's lover received financial settlement from ITV
https://mol.im/a/12140377

It's not looking good for the ITV executives is it?

We investigated.
We were lied to.

Oh and in spite of all this we then threw money at the issue to make it go away allegedly.....and "promoted" him to the same job on a lesser show Hmm.

We didn't consider why PS suddenly came out as gay after these awards (despite being presumably savvy about deflection stories) and gave him a huge platform to gain public sympathy because our hands are totally clean and we knew nothing!!!!

OrbandSpectacle · 30/05/2023 18:23

All the dirt being washed out into the river of the public domain now! surely the show will be axed before HW is due to return.

I think axing the show will be a last resort.

But I think the positions of some ITV execs are looking increasingly shaky.

Wonder if anyone has asked if PS got a pay off to make his "I lied statement"?
