How to get my refund

I bought a huge paper cutter from Amazon back in March. Put it together and it was basically tat, didn't cut straight at all. This paper cutter was £120.

I messaged the seller and asked for a refund. They asked me to accept a £30 refund and keep the cutter, I declined.

I went through the Amazon return process, printed the label and took it to the post office.

I recently checked and they still haven't refunded it. 2 months later.

Sent them a message and gave them a copy of my proof of postage.

They're saying that the item is still in transit and they will refund when they receive it.

It's not still in transit for 2 months surely?

How do I get my refund? Any advice please?

Call Amazon. There's basically a form online for complaints and they call back almost immediately in my experience

Speak to amazon and I mean a real person and don't give up. Eventually they will cave and send you the money.

I have done it twice and my husband once.

He was prepared to give up but it was a large, heavy exercise bike and I said to speak to someone at amazon. In the end they even sent us the packaging we needed to wrap it up (it was massive) and a courier came and took it away. He got his money back.

I’m also having issues with an Amazon return but it was a 3rd party seller making it harder. 2 months is ridiculous

How did you pay , can you just take it up with your card issuer .

Amazon have got involved in a similar situation for me, and just refunded it

I had this with Amazon, I called them and they could see that I had done my bit and so pushed through the refund without any hesitation.

Thank you all. I typed the barcode number in on Royal Mail website and its saying we have your parcel etc. Will this make a difference?

So it's not been delivered to them? You need to take it up with Royal Mail at this stage

The seller isn't trying it in then, they haven't received it. You'll have to take it up with Royal Mail. I hope you insured it though as they won't give you the value back otherwise.

OnlyFannys · 28/05/2023 12:19

You need to contact royal mail, amazon wont do anything if you have no proof it was delivered. Its possible it has been lost

CadburyDream · 28/05/2023 12:32

Sounds like it was lost then. Sadly that's nothing to do with amazon then the thing I sent back to them through RM was received the next day. They can't refund for something they haven't received
