What’s it like working in digital marketing?

Particularly in a marketing agency? Looking at possibly changing careers and just wondered for those who work or had worked in this area what the pros and cons were?

My DD works in digital marketing for an arts based charity. She loves it but I have no idea what she does!

This isn’t being snippy but did chatgpt write that? I’m trying to practice spotting it and this has the same sort of structure.

I would say that is definitely ChatGPT!

@JhoneSnow, is the PP right?

Yes, it does have that AI feel to it...

Haha it must be chatgpt as no one would start a sentence with ‘mate’ and who would be bothered to write that much!

I work in digital marketing for a large agency and I agree with most of that text though. A major drawback would be salaries for people starting out can be low. In an agency workload is often high, it can be high pressured with lots of deadlines - agencies make money by charging clients who want to spend as little as possible on buying the service. The job market is still quite buoyant as lots of brands invested in digital during lockdown. People with a specialism like PPC, SEO, programmatic trading are in high demand, I would recommend this route over general account management when starting out. Many people start as specialists then move to account management, it’s less common the other way around. Feel free to PM me!

The ‘chatgpt’ message actually sounds more like reasons for a company to invest in digital marketing not reasons to start a career there…
