I got a sore throat a month ago. Its got worse and worse and now I have a horrible cough, shortness of breath, can't walk up stairs, feel exhausted, but the worst is waking up every morning feeling like I've been hit by a car. Everything aches. Lower back, bum, side, heart.

Doctor said aches because of coughing too hard but its not an ache like that.

She said give it another couple of weeks. I feel pathetic going to GP for what sounds like a bad cold but why is it getting worse? Lying in bed right now and everything

I had an infection a couple of months ago, then tonsillitis. Ive had more antiobiotics this year than ive had in my whole life. I'm never normally ill, I'm always full of energy and in the last 3 months I feel constantly unwell and in the last 2 weeks bloody awful. Like Covid at the start but I've done tests and it's negative.

Any advice? The GP thinks I'm dramatic which I probably sound but if you knew me you'd know I'm not that person.....

shortness of breath, can't walk up stairs

Call your GP and focus on the above. You shouldn't be struggling for breath.

Did you test for Covid?

If you have gas check your carbon monoxide alarm is working.

Two of my adult. Children have been like this since Christmas. It’s horrible and trying to see a doctor to explain how debilitating it is , is near impossible ! My son hear back after lots of tests that he has crohns diseases so at least an explanation the other is still going around in circles . I feel for you . Just keep going to your gps and ask for tests

I had a friend in a similar circumstance last year, turned out to be the beginning of sepsis, please insist to see your gp ASAP.

if you are able to... go see a private gp and get some basic bloods done. thyroid test, check for anaemia, autoimmune disease screen, diabetes check, inflammatory markers. if you have been abroad... there might be other considerations. could just be that it's all fine. but no harm in checking? if you are v short of breath, a chest x Ray not a bad idea. all depends on how severe it is
