Should I have just let my bloody killer cat have this baby bird? I’ve rescued it and now I haven’t got a clue what to do with it!
anyone know what bird it is and if there’s a chance it will survive? (If I mange to feed
it)

Look up local wildlife rescue. They will give advice and usually look after the bird. I have heard vets and rspca usually not as helpful.

Whereabouts in the UK are you? A local animal rescue would be preferable to a vets, vets likely to PTS.

Vets. If not injured it can probably go to local wildlife rescue. If badly injured they will put it to sleep kindly

I don't think it's a fledgling (baby) I think it is a wren. If it has puncture wounds from your cat it needs antibiotics from a vet ASAP.

If there are no obvious injuries, pop it in a box outside with some water and a bit of mixed bird seed and it will go when it's ready

I rescued a baby bird and wildlife rescue advice was box with cover water and bread in a quiet place until they could collect. Bird survived.

I've seen a recommendation, if it is a baby, to put it in a cardboard box hung on a washing line. That way the parent can feed it, but it's out of reach of cats.

Thanks all. He perked up very quickly so I took him down the bottom of the garden and he flew away :)
