Hello! I have a dilemma and wonder what other people would do as I have to make a quick decision.
My son is starting reception and is currently at a good schools nursery where he has lovely friends and I like their mums too which has been great for us as it's just us two and it's nice to have a support at the school. I work full time so he has a childminder who he has had since he was 8months and she's gold dust she picks him up from my house and drops him back and is super flexible and understanding about my demanding job (think essential worker).
He didn't get into the good school for reception but he did get into an outstanding school which is on my road due to the 400 meter catchment area and is being further away from the good school. People are desperate to get their kids into this school, it's smaller and has a lovely ethos. Plus this school with wrap around care (his childminder couldn't have him anymore) would mean I could pick him up and drop him off which I'm dying to do. I was at ease with the outstanding school and gearing up for the change.
BUT I've just been offered at place at the good school as I was automatically on the waiting list.
What do I do!! All his little mates and childminder at the old place a better school and closer school is the new one... i need to decide by tomorrow ... what to do! Family thinks my life is pretty hard so I should stick with the good school For ease and continuity but I'm not sure...
What would you do?
