To think a company can’t do this?

They purposely gave me my end of year rating 2 weeks late so I would miss the deadline to appeal it.

Why is a company giving you a rating, are you an employee? There must be a complaints process? A manager to talk to?

Everyone gets an end of year rating.

The management were the ones who purposely gave me a delayed rating so I couldn’t appeal it.

Well they did do it so yes a company can do it.

BreviloquentBastard · 23/05/2023 14:15

How do you know they delayed it on purpose so you couldn't appeal?

I presume it's bad or you wouldn't be wanting to appeal it?

Sparklesocks · 23/05/2023 14:15

can you speak to HR and explain you were given it late and so weren’t given the opportunity to appeal?

Heatherbell1978 · 23/05/2023 14:16

I work for a large company and would need to accept my rating on the system. Can you just not accept it then it'll flag to HR?

Put a grievance in about it. They should extend the deadline for submitting an appeal if its their fault you got to the information too late.

@runningfromthebullet HR here, they can’t do that. Put an appeal and a separate grievance in today.

You need the performance management timeline that shows the date you should have received your rating and the appeal date. Then lodge a grievance that they did not adhere to timelines and in doing so deprived you of your right to appeal. The outcome you want is a fair appeal date.

Your appeal should be submitted stating received rating on x date. I am exercising my right to an appeal. I wish to appeal my rating in the following grounds …..

If they have failed to provide evidence of any feedback that justifies the rating request that this is supplied. Provide any evidence you have that refutes their unevidenced/unfair feedback provide it.

If you have any protected characteristic including sex use it e.g. were all male employees given their rating 2 weeks ago. Do you have a disability, do you work part time etc.
