I’ve been in my role 3 months and it’s been shit, the people are nice but the training is minimal. Just for context the team is split into categories so I’d never work directly with 75% of my colleagues.

I’ve made friends with a particular colleague and she told me how when she joined so did someone else - this person proceeded to leave after a month because of bad training and too much stress. This was early into my role she told me this and the incident happened a few years ago.

I discussed this a different colleague, just in a conversational way snd she said she was shocked that I’d been told that story.

Now I’ve thought about it was it shit to tell me this? It hasn’t exactly filled me with confidence.

I mean it's a complete non-story in the first place?!

I thought it was weird that your colleague said she shouldn't have told you but it's a little weirder that it's taking up any space in your head

Why are you concerned about this? It's a bit of standard office gossip. Probably every firm in the country has a similar story.

Colleagues talk. Take it as you find it. You’re finding it shit so take it up with your management
