Booked to go to Rome in the next couple of weeks and looking to book tickets to see the coloseeum. I have been recommended to book them on cococulture however they seem to be sold out for the dates we are there.

Can anyone other recommend any trusted sites? And how much should I expect to pay.

Thanks in advance :)

I went in Easter with 10 year old DS and paid for a tour of the Colloseum, Roman forum and palatine Hill. I have to say, I am not a tour kind of a person, and was at School the last time I did anything like a guided tour, but this was excellent and probably the highlight of our trip. I think if I had just gone in without the tour, we wouldn’t have stayed for nearly as long. We did it with city of wonders, very well organised and a brilliant tour guide called Ambra. I also booked a little restaurant nearby which was really good food, let me know if you would like that recommendation too. There’s a lot of bad tourist food round there!

Sorry, citywonders.com :)

I was about to say book at least 4 weeks in advance, as it is always hugely busy, but I see that you are going sooner. Try any and every site that comes up, stay clear of weekends, and maybe look for a 4pm or 5pm entry time.

I'm a regular in Rome and always book tickets through Get Your Guide. Have a wonderful time!

Prices between €23 and €80+ per person, depending on how much you want to see, audio guides etc. The €23 ones are fine, imo.

Get your guide

I highly recommend getting a Roma Pass form whilst you are in Rome. It gets you a free ticket to an attraction, free bus use and discounts to other attractions.

Would also recommend going to the domus aurea across the road - the ruins of Nero's golden palace. It has only just been reopened and feels like you're being let in on a well kept secret. You have to book ahead and have to go on a guided tour. It's all still very much underground but the bit where you put on VR headsets - although quite short - is a total eye opener. It's quite cold in there so take an extra layer.

@Skyin Hi, did you get tickets in the end? We are going in 2 weeks and finding it hard to get tickets for a child online.
