Hi I'm on contribution based ESA, I'm filling in details for my sons student loan, I need to give a figure I received from ESA from the tax year 21/22 I can't find the P60 that I will have been sent, where can I get this figure from.
I've logged into my government gateway account, the info isn't there.
DWP are closed.
Is there anyone who can help please?

Could you work it out from bank statements?

Roserunner · 18/05/2023 17:50

If you have your individual payslips your month 12 one will have the figures for the year on there, depending on your pay date this will be your last pay before 5th April 22.

I know how much I get every 2 weeks.
I don't get payslips I'm in receipt of ESA.

It will be 26 times your fortnightly payment wouldn’t it

Yes, that's the figure I'm going with, I'm worried that without reading it from the P60 it will be slightly wrong and hold up the application

I was wondering if there is a way of getting the P60 online

I receive contribution-based ESA. I've just looked it out, and my DWP P60 for tax year 2021 -2022 says £5948.87.

So if you received the same type of ESA for the whole tax year, and there isn't some variation that I don't know about, then that's your figure too.

The PAYE ref on my P60 is ESA500, in case that helps to check.

PerkingFaintly · 18/05/2023 18:33

To help you check if we're the same: my ESA for tax year 2020-2021 was £5920.28, according to the P60 for that.

Name99 · 18/05/2023 18:47

Thankyou very much
Strange that there is a slight difference in the amounts.
I've no idea where my P60 is at all.
You'd think that there would be a way to find it online on the government gateway thing

If you can get through to DWP tomorrow they'll give you the exact figure x

Name99 · 19/05/2023 12:54

Well I got through to them.
Figure was £5947.71
You would think it would be exactly the same for everyone.

Shock

Oh god, I don't even want to know.

Maybe my year has more days in it... Grin Nothing would surprise me with the DWP.

spurs4ever · 19/05/2023 19:06

@Name99 it's because there are still different rates depending on your age. Plus, the day of the week you get paid is relevant as rates increase each April. Glad you got it sorted x

Name99 · 19/05/2023 19:41

Ah the days of the week thing makes sense.
Yes all sorted and his loan application sent
