Shamelessly posting here for traffic, sorry! Also name changed.

Do any of you lovely mumsnetters work for DWP? I have a job interview with them next week and wondered if anyone can tell me the type of question's they will ask?

Specifically the job is for a UC administrative officer, I reallllly want this job so just want to be as prepared as I can be!

Any help would be appreciated, Thankyou!

They will ask you about the competencies outlined in the job description (e.g. delivering at pace, communicating and leading), you will need to answer using the STAR (Google and YouTube it) framework. So it will be a "competency based" interview - "Tell me about a time when you needed to Deliver a project or output at Pace, what happened, what did you do?"

To understand the competencies at your level Google the latest civil service competency framework and look up the competencies listed in the job description, write your STAR answer so it hits all the points in the framework for your level, and so you avoid the "bad" behaviours called out in the framework. Memorise your answers.

If in the interview, they ask a follow up question (e.g., did you ever receive any push back from colleagues in the situation?), even if it feels like a negative thing the answer they're looking for is "yes" and they expect you to say how you worked around the issue.
