Lots of what to pack for holiday threads.. What didn't get packed for your trip?
I packed for ds a week before.. Got to the destination and opened a very sparse bag. Ds had been wearing the holiday clothes the week up to leaving..
Dd packed her own stuff once. Teenager - very capable..

Rocked up in flip flops. No other shoes packed..

Forgot my own error.. Weekend away with dh. Unpacked sandals for meal out. Had packed 2 odd ones!

I had a weekend away last month. I had a list - everything checked off. Could I be any more organised?

Turns out that I'd packed my phone charger with only the USB cable and no actual plug. So, had to scavenge a phone charger on the second day.

On other trips I've forgotten to pack:

• Prescription sunglasses which means having to use contact lenses, which I don't like for the pool or long days in the sun. Vay annoying.
• Makeup brushes. Makeup is on the list. Check! Anything to apply with? Nope!

My whole makeup kit!!

I had carefully put what I was taking into a plastic bag for going through security. Didn't put it in my bag as needed it to do my makeup in the morning before going. My ex was very kindly dropping us off and he was in a bit of a flap about setting off really early and somehow due to his flapping I left my makeup on the settee.

We got to the airport so early we were an hour and half before the check-in desk opened and 6 hours before the flight took off!

My usual make-up is Boots No 7 but of course that day it was closed for refurbishment so ended up spending a fortune on Bobbi Brown so the free lift cost me significantly more than just paying for a taxi!

Dh is the designated Packer Of The Car.. His history of forgetting includes the travel cot and buggy for ds!
He also once forgot his towel when he assumed I had packed one....
Mentioned he was now 40 and was capable of packing for himself. So he does now!

Underwear and chargers. I've got so many charging cables that I've bought because I've left mine at home.

I have a very good eye mask. I had to go on a night flight and was very fed up that I had forgotten it.

We are normally pretty organised but - sun hats. We went on holiday last winter to a sunny destination and just completely forgot.

I have a bag I leave in the suitcase that contains all the things that never really need to be unpacked -like adapters, chargers, sun hats etc so I've never forgotten them

I did once go on a two week holiday with such a slimmed down capsule wardrobe that I was entirely bored with myself after the first week - I'd banked on washing things and drying on the balcony. Which was fine but everything looked a bit saggy and crumpled. It was also significantly colder than we'd anticipated and I didn't have anything warm to wear.
So thanks, Portugal 2003. You were memorable.

Covid vaccination record (had to drive home through the night to fetch it) and a picnic blanket!
