What came after? If you have 3 kids that is! All the families I know who had girl then boy, had another boy after! So I’m putting my theory to the test!

I’m one of 3 which fits your theory - girl boy boy

The really huge population studies confirm that it never strays far from 50/50. If you already have 2 the same, you're marginally more likely to have the same again for example, but it's not a huge change from 50/50. There are then some changes around times of huge impact such as war.

But it's 50/50 ish for the general population on a normal day. It's like anything on MN though. Ask about Chinese charts or old wives tales or patterns you've seen in friends, and people flock to confirm it. Or post on aibu and people come along to tear apart your hypothesis, life choices and grammar to boot.
