This morning I treated myself to a Starbucks drive thru. I got to the intercom and felt like I waited ages. The intercom next to me served three more cars that had arrived after me.

I couldn’t reverse as someone was behind me so decided to order at the window. Did this. And then they handed me three drinks (I’d ordered two).

She said she’ll refund me and handed me a load of coins and I said can I just get a refund on my card please.

She took my card and walked off. Then said it was done.

Checked my online banking and there’s no refund. I feel like she just took the piss out of me and pretended to refund me. I’m not bothered about the money more that they were clearly making me out to be a mug 😊

(I wasn’t rude, I just asked please can I have it on my card as she was trying to hand me back it all in silvers and coppers)

Card refunds can take 48 hours (debit) or up to 7 days (credit) to show up - so wait a day or so to see if it appears.

Why did you need a refund when she have you more drinks than you ordered?

Sounds like they were run off their feet, what refund did you want anyway as you ordered 2 drinks and were given 3?

Card refunds are not instant so can take a few days to show up!

She wouldn't take your card for a refund and walk off with it...this story does not add up.

So you ordered 2 drinks eg a flat white and a latte, she gave you two flat whites and a latte. You said no I only ordered one of each, she tried to give you the refund in coins. YANBU to want it back on your payment card, it's really odd she tried to do it in cash as that would affect how the till cashes up at the end of the shift. Give it 48 hours and contact Starbucks customer services. It can take a couple of days to show.

Sorry FBI what part doesn’t add up? I paid at one window and collected at a second window. She walkers away with the card as there’s card machine near at that window.
