Annoyed at friends behaviour?

I had drinks and food at my place on Thursday night for a group of 7 of us.

Friend cancelled at the time she was suppose to arrive as she didn’t feel well.

On Saturday she went out and had a huge drinking session (saw on Instagram story). I know she might feel better but surely most people after feeling unwell don’t go out on a binge the day after feeling better?

Maybe she had a headache on Thursday and it was gone by the next morning? Some evenings, I'm just worn out and have a headache from work. Maybe she's the same, but managed a lie in on Saturday morning and felt good to go out? Unless there's a back story and she always cancels?

WillowtreeHouse · 16/05/2023 21:38

YABU. It was two days later. She could have had bad period pains, a headache, a 24 hour bug. You don't sound like you like her very much.

angelikacpickles · 16/05/2023 21:39

She was sick on Thursday so shouldn't go out on Saturday? YABU.

melj1213 · 16/05/2023 21:44

YABU - how long was she supposed to quarantine after your party before she was allowed to go out again?

"Not feeling well" can cover a million things on a spectrum from flu that means you can't drag yourself out of bed to the loo, never mind a party, and just having a bit of a headache that will pass with a quiet evening in and an early night.

She may not have even been physically unwell but rather than trying to explain "I can't face an evening of socialising as I'm just mentally exhausted today" and risk someone trying to persuade her to come anyway she went with "I'm unwell" as you can't argue someone better.

I wouldn't be going out drinking on a Thursday either.

She lied and went out Saturday.

It's not really a big deal is it?

MrsDoylesDoily · 16/05/2023 21:59

It must've been disappointing but YABU.

Sometimes I can feel really nauseous/stomach upset for no particular reason.

Then after a good night's sleep and a dump I feel much better.

Dontbelieveaword · 16/05/2023 21:59

And you've got 6 friends?
Are you her employer, manager, school head??

purpleme12 · 16/05/2023 22:09

Agree with all the others.
I can quite easily see how sometimes poorly one evening then ok 2 days later!
I don't know why this is even on your radar to be honest

YABU and paranoid

OuchIStubbedMyBigToe · 16/05/2023 22:15

I had a migraine and was sick as the proverbial dog last week on Wednesday. Literally lying down in a dark room, vomiting, dizzy etc. By Friday I was fit as a fiddle.

YABU

Thursday to Saturday is 2 days. You can't police what people do days after being sick.

squashyhat · 17/05/2023 08:59

Just be thankful you didn't have to deal with her hangover on Sunday.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 17/05/2023 09:00

Cancelling at the time she was meant to arrive is really poor. If she was unwell she’d have known before that - even if it was a few hours.

However I don’t think the drinking on Saturday is relevant as she could well feel better
