BT giving me the run around

AIBU to complain elsewhere- if so, where?

Internet dropouts/slow service for a month, 4x engineers to 'sort it', told I'd get an automatic refund for the issues, BT wrongly advised about engineer visits screwing my work days multiple times. 2mths on- they say I'd only get a refund for NO service at all and deny they have my multiple complaints on record!

The 'advisor' today wanted me to sign another 2yr contract!!! 😡

I will obviously leave them, but where can I go to get the refunds they promised?

Raise an official complaint. If it’s not resolved in 8 weeks you can go the the communications ombudsman

Hi all, unfortunately we have some concerns here so we're taking this down while we look behind the scenes.

BT have a high level complaints team

It used to be that if you contact their CEO then the complaint would be passed to them

This may help

We had a similar issue with BT, we'd actually had fab service for 9 years, no issues at all but then the Internet started dropping out for longer and longer periods.
Raised a repair which took way over schedule, when I rang them they told me it an underground fault and they were digging up the ground somewhere and they didnt need access to my property, the following day I get a call from a BT engineer who was outside my house wanting access, I was out at the time and when I told them what the customer services had said they told me from what they could see from outside my house it looked like a problem with my socket due to all the rising damp I had.
Then hired builders to come out and check the house, you guessed it, no sign of damp.
When I rang BT they gave me attitude for 'refusing access' to my property.

Long story short I now have the 5g Broadband from Three which works perfectly and is cheaper.
BT never paid the compensation owed for overrunning repairs because I apparently refused access as I wasn't at home for an appointment they didn't tell me I had.
My account is now with a collections agency despite the fact I was right at the end of my contract I apparently owe them £184. After BT ignored all of my complaints that is now with the Ombudsman.

Thanks everyone for the links and ideas re complaining.

@tieredbunny12 Your experience is similar to mine. I had 4 engineers out over 2 weeks. 1st one said there were 198 faults on the line- he'd never seen so many! Fault not fixed, then told the next engineer one would visit between 8-8pm. I stayed in all day and organised to WFH as best I could with limited internet- no one came. Finally found out he'd been working on the box in the street and didn't need to come to our house!

Fault still not fixed. Assured the next engineer also didn't need access and would only visit the box in the street. Whilst at work- I get a call asking where I was from the engineer who was outside my house! Absolute shambles and the engineers said it happened all the time 😡

UPDATE- Yet again, BT closed my complaint with a note saying that I'd phoned to close the complaint- I HADN'T!

3mths on, its finally been sorted and I got 1mth credited back to my account.

We have similar issue, noisy landline and slow bb (8mb) First reported in April and it is batted between BT and openreach, Fourth engineer due to look into it next week. Apparently compensation is discretionary. BT call centre are surprisingly good but their communication with OR and online tracker is woeful.
