Is CBD the answer?

I’m struggling at work - imposter syndrome, work anxiety, a horrible client and so much pressure has turned me into a miserable, negative, procrastinating person. I used to be so upbeat and positive and find life so much easier with that outlook but I’m just struggling to find that person in me. Half a diazepam would likely do the trick but I can’t be diagnosed with anxiety for work reasons that I won’t go into. Would CBD oil do the trick? Or gummies? Which ones won’t make me drowsy or dizzy?

I've wondered this as well! CBD is advertised everywhere but no clue if it actually works and what the possible side effects are

I went in to Holland and Barratt hoping for my some guidance but apparently they can sell it to you but can’t advise you on it which seemed a bit strange!

It does nothing for me, sorry! ❤️

You can't make many specific claims as to what it helps as not enough research, but you describe things it might help with to an extent. It might not though. Maybe buy a small amount of gummies or tea and see? Some people find it super calming and that it helps their sleep and mood loads. It doesn't get you high and you probably don't have anything to lose by trying. I never found it massively helpful, maybe felt 2% more relaxed

I used both oil and gummies. I don't know if it a placebo but they work for me so that's all I care about. They don't make me drowsy at all. The only way I can describe it is I'm feeling stressed and anxious, take my oil and a short while later realise I'm feeling much calmer. My heart palpitations stop and I feel I can think better.

Plump82 · 15/05/2023 19:38

I've used a word mumsnet don't like which is why my message is hidden but it was me basically saying I use both and they work for me. I don't know if it's a placebo but don't care if it does the job.

I take oil. The mint trip one that tastes alright. Like a PP I’ve no idea if it’s a placebo effect or what but I do feel more level and less all the over place when I take it every day.

Not a magic fix all or anything, but it’s helped me.

I've had similar and 5htp is very good for stress and anxiety. You can get it from Holland & Barrett type places. If you're also having trouble with focusing, Krill Oil is also very good - other Omega 3 fish oils are available but this one is very good for concentration.

I liked CBD too (hilarious dreams) - best one I tried was a full spectrum one from Body & Mind Botanicals - but I reckon the 5htp made a bigger difference.

It’s brilliant. I buy the one that Claudia Winkleman advertises (can’t remember the name). I did loads of research and they came out as reliable, consistent and they test all batches. I buy the day and night combo pack. It’s makes such a difference to my anxiety levels, my ability to sleep and the pain in my hip (waiting for a joint replacement). I call it a wonder drug

It works for me. I use the fourfive brand.

Cozytoesandtoast00 · 15/05/2023 20:56

It definitely works for me.
I use one in MCT oil for better delivery.
You also have to experiment with different strengths
I use mine for relaxing into sleep. Cured my insomnia!

HesDeadBenYouCanStopNow · 15/05/2023 21:01

I use it for menopause related anxiety (alongside hrt) and found that the Savers high dose works really well.

Interestedly I assumed Holland and Barrett would be better as they are more expensive but it didn't work as well for me.

Given that at the time I expected them to be better but noticed marked differences I don't think it's a placebo.

That's interesting to hear. The one I use isn't particularly expensive compared to others which is why I thought it was maybe a placebo but maybe it isn't!!

Just smoke a joint

shellyleppard · 15/05/2023 23:56

I'm taking cbd capsules for joint pain. The gummies have a funny aftertaste.... capsules no taste at all. Yes I can tell the difference if I don't take them. My back and hip pain are very bad. Good luck with the experience. ❤️
