Painful Thread/Spider Vein

I have one appeared just above my ankle and it's tender to the touch. Has anyone had one of these that has been painful and got it removed? I read about people getting them removed for cosmetic reasons but mine would be for the discomfort it causes me

Hi, I didnt want to read and run, Have you seen a GP? If its painful I would have it looked at.

I saw a vascular surgeon about something else, and i showed him this at the end as a sort of side point and he wasn't very interested! He said they just happen and sometimes they can be painful. I always read about people getting them removed but only because they don't like the look of them. Mine actually hurts when pressed!

I hope someone can share their experiences with you!
