To enjoy not working

I'm late thirties. I left my last job three months ago as it was very high stress, and I was working all the time. I decided to give myself a break from work for a couple of months. Luckily I had enough savings to live on for three months. And I still have savings left now.

I really enjoyed those three months. I had time to go for walks, time to go out in nature, time to have coffees. It was the best time.

I've been applying for jobs and I've been offered some, and I know I need to go back to work. I'm Just dreading it. I hate working!

Im just writing out my thoughts here to reflect on it. Those three months were so happy. Did anyone else take time off work?

Hi. I took a few months out last year after long covid and a very very demanding period at work. It was life changing.

Time to relax properly, get my head sorted, to get properly fit, sort out my priorities. Literally get my house in order. My garden never looked better.

I'm now back at a new job but working 3 days a week. And I start on time, and finish on time. Don't check emails on days off - all of which is unheard of in my type of job. But my productivity is higher and if they don't like it, then I'll go somewhere else. My confidence in my work ability and experience is much higher now.

I've learned to live more frugally and the time is worth far more to me than the much bigger pay I used to have.

I'm a supporter of the 4 day working week for all. So much healthier.

If you can make part time work for you I'd advocate that in a heartbeat.
