NoBiggy · 18/02/2008 15:40

Do you have to kick his arse?

Cappuccino · 18/02/2008 15:41

I wish

TsarChasm · 18/02/2008 15:41

Is he the bloke who was baldrick?

lottiejenkins · 18/02/2008 15:45

He does a lot of good work too re alzheimers and nursing homes..................

SheikYerbouti · 18/02/2008 15:46

My mate Crispin appeared in a play with him in 1969. Apparently he was an irritating dicksplash back then. (It was Brecht's Caucasian Chalk Circle, if you are interested)

Winetimeisfinetime · 18/02/2008 15:47

I quite like him and he is a nice bloke apparently. He is my ex's cousin but I never met him - met his mum and dad though.

Cappuccino · 18/02/2008 15:49

rofl at dicksplash

oh I can't stand him

dressed up in historical outfits

wandering round archaeological digs like an annoying nerd

Desiderata · 18/02/2008 15:50

He annoys me t?oo. I'm just not sure why.

Have they ever found anything on TimeTeam?

SheikYerbouti · 18/02/2008 15:51

Only that Mick Aston has appalling taste in jumpers

RustyBear · 18/02/2008 15:51

You know the ad is now actually on this thread? Which is kind of ironic. Maybe mentioning Tony Robinson has brought it up......

SheikYerbouti · 18/02/2008 15:52

Which ad is it?

RustyBear · 18/02/2008 16:05

For this site

Kathyis6incheshigh · 18/02/2008 16:07

I dunno though, he is annoying but I like the programmes apart from him.
The question is, if he wasn't there would there still be (for example) The Worst Jobs In History, only with someone less annoying? Or would they not exist, or would they be presented by someone even more annoying? Or by Griff Rhys Jones, who is not annoying but risks becoming so with much more exposure.

MrsMattie · 18/02/2008 16:09

he is vaguely irritating, yes. I find Bill Oddie the most annoying man in the world, though. Closely followed by Martin Amis.

vonsudenfed · 18/02/2008 16:16

Martin Amis wins that one hands down. But he's run a close race by Jay Rayner, telling us in the Observer this weekend that being anti-supermarkets is anti women. Because he, rather than Felicity Lawrence who wrote the book on the subject and just happens to be a woman, is by far the most qualified person to tell us women what to think.

Apologies for the OT, but I do feel better now!

Kathyis6incheshigh · 18/02/2008 16:17

Time Team, presented by Martin Amis.
Would be worth watching at least once.

LittleBella · 18/02/2008 16:18

Oh he is just so worthy

You know you ought to like him. But you just can't, and it's a moral failing in you.

rebelmum1 · 18/02/2008 16:26

he's a christian, perhaps you detect a slight hint of naive enthusiasm, cheeriness and a sense of other worldliness.

Kathyis6incheshigh · 18/02/2008 16:27

Is he? I didn't know that. He does look like the sort who doesn't drink.

rebelmum1 · 18/02/2008 16:27

tony robinson I mean, personally I cannot abide bill oddie he's so grumpy and just wants the limelight.

MrsMattie · 18/02/2008 16:30

Tony Robinson, Bill Oddie & Martin Amis on the same thread. God, I feel sick....

filthymindedvixen · 18/02/2008 16:31

I cannot forgive him for doing crappy vanish ads....

Minkus · 18/02/2008 16:32

I love time team! But must admit that I simply ignore Tony's useless utterances and concentrate instead of trying to identify exactly what is in that blokes hat this week.

Can't stand Bill Oddie either YOU ARE NOT FUNNY BILL and that blimmin Kate or whoever presents with him deserves a good talking to, humouring him and pretending he might be sexually attractive urrgh repugnant little bead wearing twitcher that he is

Ooops sorry realised that was a bit of a pent up outpouring of hate there!

Kathyis6incheshigh · 18/02/2008 16:33

I do quite like the chemistry of Kate and Bill appearing together, ie, she clearly can't stand him

MrsMattie · 18/02/2008 16:34

'repugnant little bead wearing twitcher' ah ha haaaaaaaa that is such an accurate description of him!@Minkus. I must file that away for future use! PMSL
