I posted before about a colonoscopy, I had one for frequent abdominal pain, and massive distension (my entire abdomen swells and takes on the texture of a water bed), mucus (sorry) and urgency to BM. I’ve had high protectin of 350 and raised inflammation markers (hence consultant doing colonoscopy) and a history of what has been described as a chronic appendicitis as during one outburst of intense pain, I got admitted to hospital with raised inflammation markers and they did a scan and saw some thickening of the appendix (consultant since said a chronic or grumbling appendix isn’t a thing medically speaking, it’s normally something else that’s not been investigated).
well colonoscopy was clear, biopsies taken. Saw consultant briefly and he said often a procedure like this sept do resets your gut and I’ll most likely be fine now. Well I was for 10 days and now all my symptoms are back and I’m fucking miserable, it’s almost worse because I remember what it’s like to be symptom free ( I’d been constantly swollen and in pain since October/ November. I can’t focus at work due to being in pain and swollen like a balloon, im exhausted, im constantly poorly, I can’t bend down without pain, honestly i feel like I have no quality of life.
my follow up appointment isn’t until June and no way of bringing it forward. I have no idea what caused the symptoms or how I can make them go away, can anyone please help me? If they’ve had anything similar and know what it could be or at least how they manage the symptoms?
