I’m agony with this :(

Don’t want to be accused of being a troll (I’m a long term poster, I’ve NC) but I’m really struggling with this and haven’t been able to get any sort of proper help

for the last 2 years or so I’ve suffered really badly with anal fissures. By the time I’ve managed to get a GP appointment the fissure has never been there and checked it (typical!) but when the fissures flare up I can tell because I get excruciating pain on pooing, superficial bleeding and I’ve seen the fissures myself after checking in the mirror at home. Gp said even though they didn’t find anything when they checked it will be recurrent fissures

I’ve tried everything possible to treat fissures (both prescribed and non prescribed), I’ve tried every elimination diet possible and been under a dietician, I’ve tried different fabric underwears and every different type of toilet paper possible in case it was causing irritation. I’ve tried happy rash creams, I’ve tried washing down there instead of using toilet paper. Nothing has helped and it’s been the most horrific 2 years.

it started again today and I’m in absolute agony and cannot sleep because it’s still throbbing now after going to the toilet 20 minutes ago. But I checked in the mirror tonight and could see an obvious anal fissure but also what seems to be a fissure on my skin itself- I don’t know if it’s a fissure or what it is, but it’s a vertical cut about an inch and a half long running on the skin about an inch or two above the rectal area. Since it’s on the skin, it’s not an anal fissure, but it’s on the bum crack area so still a fissure type thing I suppose. I’ve never had that before but I’m in absolute agony with it. Going to the toilet is excruciating and even lying in bed hurts too. It didn’t look like eczema or psoriasis either it was literally a big vertical cut basically running upwards

i don’t want to be accused of being a troll so I’m NOT asking for personal stories or whatever, but just advice if anyone knows of why I could be continually getting them? I’m not constipated or straining and I’m not having diarrhoea and constantly wiping. I’m young, healthy and absolutely miserable with this and it’s ruining my everyday life now

Sounds like sweat rash - my v.v. sport ex-husband suffered from what you've described.

Sudocreme was the solution for him.

There was another thread recently about this that had some really good suggestions. I didn't comment on it so not in my history, but hopefully someone else will remember and link it.

So sorry sounds awful, never had this but when I've had thrush w/ red raw itchy skin I've used warm salt water to bathe it and that's really helped. Good luck xx

Sorry you're going through this.
It is absolute agony and when I had it, I felt like I would bleed out from it.
Germoloids Cream helped a lot.
Although you say you're not straining try eating 3 or 4 prunes last thing ,then drink a glass of water first thing.
After an hour, sit on the loo and just relax. Could take up to 15 mins, but let the motion happen naturally.
This helped me a lot and haven't had them since.
Like you, I'd tried everything with no luck.
