Inspired by the CP thread. We bought our first camper van last year. We love it and have been to loads of our favourite places /beaches in Scotland/ Northumberland. We like a bit of wildness, as do the DC- we were way up North at Easter- but for summer I'm really needing suggestions of where to go for great activities for them. DS3 (11) has ASD and ADHD so needs the security of his own space, but likes exciting places to visit too.

Both DC love mountain biking and we do lots of this, so will take bikes with us. We have wetsuits so will take these as we'll still want to get to have a beach/beaches incorporated.

Really looking for suggestions of a few activities that are great that are nearish each other and beside country/ wild/ beach areas- not city (we live in a big city so are escaping that!).

Ideally climbing/ zip-slide/ water-sports /country pursuits that will excite an 11 and 16 year old and we can also enjoy the local area.

We're central Scotland, so the North of England or Scotland would be ideal. (We're planning N Ireland soon/ Outer Hebrides next year).

Both boys also love roller coasters, not my bag personally, but if we're near enough we might fling in a day to Alton/ Pleasure Beach. A good indoor pool with all the bells and whistles always a winner too.

Thank you in advance. I'm sorry to use you all as a high functioning Google, but when you don't know a specific area it's hard to research all of them.

Can you get to North Wales? This might appeal, and there’s also loads of climbing and beach potential.

If you enjoy cycling, have you done Route 7? The sections from Aberfoyle to Loch Tay are spectacular and loads of beautiful lochs on route

It's not me who's the cycler- it's the DC and DP! (I'm more of a walker and a book reader!). And they're confirmed mountain bikers- if it's on a road they're not doing it 😅. But thanks for the suggestion.
