Is a May paycheque bigger then an April paycheque ?

If I started work on the 3rd of April and was paid on the 28th of April.
Would my May pay be bigger, if I get paid on the 31st of May ?

I get paid on the last day of the month. But obviously I've worked more in May than in April.

It's usually averaged out so every month is the same.

Assuming you're salaried rather than hourly paid.

frazzledasarock · 09/05/2023 18:33

Yes your pay for April would be prorated to the days you worked. Your May salary will be 1/12 your annual salary.

so you'll be paid more in May.

my answer is if you started this job in April.

If your start date is actually 3rd April, then you'll get paid slightly less. But on the basis that that's just the first Monday of the month, I would expect payroll has your start date as the 1st April.

Not necessarily. The 3rd of April was the first working day in April so it's entirely possible the OP was paid for a full month, meaning her April and May pay would be the same.

If you are salaried you will be paid the same every month.
If you are on hourly pay and worked more in May than April then you will be paid more in May.
