I haven’t been to minor injuries . Foot and ankle was very bruised and swollen to start . Bruising gone but swelling around ankle joint remains which radiates down my foot . I’ve bought an ankle support which doesn’t seem to help . I can walk but it throbs badly . Does anyone know if I go to minor injuries now would they offer anything additional or do I need to continue to ride it out . Pain at night is hard to deal with . I just don’t want to be a time waster if I can ‘self care’ . It’s starting to get me down now though as I was hoping things would be improving

If it hasn’t improved by now and is causing you pain it needs to be checked.

Omg go to minor injuries. Its been like it for 2 weeks and still causing pain!

I've sprained / torn ligaments in both ankles at different times with differing levels of pain / movement / recovery. I also walked round on a broken ankle thinking it was a sprain (I have a pretty high pain threshold to be fair). Honestly, go to minor injuries so they can rule out a fracture. I went with both of my sprains as was nervous after not realising I'd broken my ankle previously and I wasn't made to feel like a timewaster at all.

How do you know it's not broken if it's that bad and been two weeks?

I was given crutches and physio for a bad sprain by minor injuries.

I'd also think about if e.g. thick socks would.mean you could have feet out from under the duvet if it's the weight of the duvet causing pain at night?

Go to minor injuries, that's what it's for.

Agree. Go to minor injuries juries.

I had this and didn't go for a couple of weeks- it was a bad sprain and took a good month to get better. The nurse who saw me said very often sprains are worse than actual fractures on the ankle, hurt more and take longer to heal, so yes, definitely go and have an X ray.
Hope it gets better soon!
