Holiday arrangements

My friend from my home country wanted to visit us. We knew that PIL wanted to meet us in may as well. They said they will come week before half term. My friend booked holiday and flights for the half term. Now PIL wants to come later and leave in the same morning my friend arrives. I find that too much and said that I would prefer couple of days between guests. Aibu?

Nope. Simply advise what’s possible under the arrangements already made. Don’t go into too many details.

Surely half term holidays different between different countries? Often they aren’t the same between all schools even in the UK.

I think since friend has already booked just tell PIL it doesn’t suit until the next weekend.

Are PIL in the UK?
Just tell them their new arrangement doesn't work for you and they'll have to leave at least a day earlier than they want to.

I recently had a similar situation only the overseas visitor was coming first. Dropped them at airport on Wednesday night, UK visitor arrived by car Thursday just after lunch. I just bought a 2nd lot of bedding for the spare bed so I hadn't got to worry about washing and drying bedding overnight. Changed bed on return from airport then cleaned bathroom/bedroom and ran around with the hoover on Thursday morning as well as doing supermarket shopping.

PIL are being unreasonable.

YANBU. I would want at least a few days between visitors, it's too exhausting otherwise.
