Any recommendations or experiences much appreciated please. Looking at all age groups. Sorry for posting here but it's the only place to be seen!
Also is Christchurch/Wimborne better for family life, schools etc? Trying to figure out an area.
Thanks

Both are lovely places to live. Do you want coast or slightly inland? There is only one secondary school in Wimborne, QE , which is a lovely school. I don’t know schools in Christchurch. Both places have plenty for families.

I would prefer Christchurch over Wimborne with kids personally. Christchurch has good schools mostly (avoid The Grange). Wimborne I always find a bit odd and a bit of the periphery for getting to other places. I love to go some weekends for a walk about but I wouldn't want to live there, especially as the children got older. Highcliffe would be a good area to look at as well for schools.

I heard some not great things about QE. Someone said it was a bit rough. Google reviews highlight bullying and cold, clinical environment.
I thought wimborne was quite well located for access to beach, forest and other towns etc. Not sure how much there would be for teenagers.

Hi. I live in Christchurch and have two children. I love living here and think it is a good place to bring up children. Lots going on, close to beach/new forest, nice high street, lots of cafe/pub/restaurants, not far from Bournemouth for cinema/theatres/leisure centre etc. Good schools but you do need to think about where you live for catchments. I don't know much about Wimborne. It always seems nice and heard positive things about it. It is more rural and guess beach would be c.30mins

Are you looking for state or independent schools?
Both are in Grammar school catchment area - Bournemouth for Christchurch and Poole for Wimborne.

Both are nice to live in. Christchurch has great bars and is near the beach. Wimborne is a nice town , quite smart, houses are expensive, the scenery is far more woodland.

Dorset traffic can be hideous especially in the summer. It‘s worth asking if you need to
commute anywhere. We moved down here in the not too distant past and chose to be nearer the forest than the beach partly because of the traffic.

For senior age you have Canford school right there which is one of the best in the county. Not sure about recommendation for junior sorry
