Work travel

I have two young children (2 and 6). I work for a UK charity and have to travel to Rwanda at least 2/3 times a year for around 9 days each time. I spend time visiting our charity projects. I have a fantastic husband and support network and my job helps pay the bills. I always worry very much about leaving and prepare well so the children are sorted for my weeks away. The role is very flexible around my kids in all other circumstances and I love the work we get to do. However when I do travel I go quite remote and couldn't get home quickly. AIBU with a job like this and two young children?

So you’re away for 9 days every 4 months?

How would that be problematic given they’re with their dad? Seems perfectly fine to me.

Absolutely fine, dad is at home. 👍

If your husband had to do this would you be on here questioning it?

I don't think this is a problem. Their dad is at home
