Peanut butter

Just went to grab some peanut butter from the cupboard and found this. DH never throws away empty things ever, so I don't realise it's all gone and don't buy more. I'm putting this back in the cupboard and buying my own secret peanut butter, which I'll keep somewhere hidden. He can keep using this one until he admits it's empty and throws it away.
I predict he will never eat peanut butter again.

Yabu - that's enough peanut butter to feed a family of 4 for a month.
Yanbu - muhahaha good plan. Also LTB.

Thought you were replying to yourself then Grin def yanbu!!!

Soproudoflionesses · 07/05/2023 09:09

Love your work op!!!!

dudsville · 07/05/2023 09:10

Absolutely behind you 100% op!

Custardbanana · 07/05/2023 09:11

You need a jar scraper tool. There's still a toasts worth of peanut butter there.

Ellie1015 · 07/05/2023 09:11

I predict he will take the peanut butter out, be disappointed it is empty then put it back at least twice before he bins it. 😆

Franklin2000 · 07/05/2023 09:13

Or he’ll take it out a few times before saying “why haven’t you bought peanut butter? You know it’s empty, right?”

Timeforabiscuit · 07/05/2023 09:16

Dd has a similar affliction with peanut butter, secret peanut butter stash all the way.

However, I also have the ability to stretch out a tube of toothpaste beyond the laws of physics, which irritates dh no end, as he waits for me to replace it and I happily squeeze another brushs worth out of nothing.

Daleksatemyshed · 07/05/2023 09:18

Your DH is evil and must be punished. Hide your peanut butter then hide a teaspoon every day until you have them all 😂

sommeliermama · 07/05/2023 09:22

Yanbu!! I would be fuming 😂

Oysterbabe · 07/05/2023 10:53

The most annoying thing about it is I bet he had slightly less peanut butter than he wanted on his last bit of toast just to leave the remnants you see here so that he can claim the jar is not empty.

I predict he will take it out again but not put it back in the fridge, he will leave it out on the side until you throw it out for him and replace

Shock

You keep peanut butter in the fridge? What fresh madness is this?

[misses the point]

littleblackcat27 · 07/05/2023 11:03

That's a very good point

littleripper · 07/05/2023 14:09

Your error is in having 1 jar of peanut butter. DH has a minimum of 6 on the go at any one time.

littleripper · 07/05/2023 14:10

@Davros @littleblackcat27 Peanut butter rolled into balls, put in the fridge, dipped in melted dark chocolate and eaten whilst hovering in the kitchen is the way to go.

Awrite · 07/05/2023 14:13

I voted YANBU but I put the peanut butter back in the cupboard the exact same way the other day.

ThinWomansBrain · 07/05/2023 14:14

@littleripper No, I think you mean Montezumza's dark chocolate peanut butter truffles are the way to go.
At Easter, they had dark chocolate peanut butter easter eggs, which were essentially the truffles as an egg shape 😆

They are the awesomest but my homemade version are also amazing when you are far from the shops

Refrigerated peanut butter is grim, but if the jar or lid is plastic, rats can smell it and given half a chance will gnaw through the plastic.

spottybug · 07/05/2023 15:02

I do the same thing with the loo roll

Davros · 07/05/2023 19:15

Eh? Cover up n chocolate and put in fridge?
LittleRipper sounds luvly
