To ask for help for an explanation with this??

I was DEFINITELY asleep at 6.23 this morning, got woken by my alarm at 7. DH asked me why I’d texted him and I said I haven’t? But this is on my messages- how?? I honestly didn’t send it and it’s nothing like the way I message. Has my phone been hacked? Is that even a thing?

Weird!

Absolutely no explanation, but I agree it's odd. Some kind of phishing attempt?

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 07/05/2023 07:09

Only thing I can think of (and even then it’s desperately clutching at straws) is that you were talking in your sleep and Siri heard and sent a text?

Gobrookeyourself · 07/05/2023 07:12

I’ve never talked in my sleep so I don’t think it’s that. I thought maybe the phishing explanation but there’s no link or anything to click?

Perhaps ring your network provider, I’m sure if it’s a thing they’ll of heard about it. I’d be worried somebody is phishing around in my bank/apps etc!

Anyonebut · 07/05/2023 07:14

Do you have loud talking neighbors called Sarah and Alexia and are they planning a party?

Lindy2 · 07/05/2023 07:20

Do you ever sleep walk? Could you have been messaging while asleep?

It's a bit odd.

AlisonDonut · 07/05/2023 07:22

Do you use the word 'store'?

This looks like a definite hack of some description.

It looks like one of those messages written using only the middle predictive text button. Maybe you did this in your sleep?

Gobrookeyourself · 07/05/2023 07:23

Detached house and no to the sleepwalking! I just can’t figure it out. I’m worried someone has access to my phone remotely, but this seems a very random thing to do if they do. Also, my phone is tucked under my pillow at night so there’s no way anyone could get it, I’m a really light sleeper.

Gobrookeyourself · 07/05/2023 07:24

I thought the word ‘store’ was weird too @AlisonDonut because we never use it, it’s always shop!

Is that WhatsApp, text (iMessage, as in iPhone) or Android? WhatsApp and iMessage can both be sent from web browsers making hacking more likely

Gobrookeyourself · 07/05/2023 07:25

It’s not WhatsApp, it’s an actual message. How do I know if it’s iMessage?

OP posts:
FawnFrenchieMum · 07/05/2023 07:26

Assuming it’s an iPhone, have you got your iCloud on any other device? My DDs phone and our iPad use my iCloud and occasionally all the settings reset and her iMessages show up as me sending them.

CrapBucket · 07/05/2023 07:27

Try Googling the sentences and see if anything comes up- if it’s hacking it’s bound to have happened to someone else who may have written about it

FawnFrenchieMum · 07/05/2023 07:27

Gobrookeyourself · 07/05/2023 07:25

It will be iMessage if it’s blue, text messages are green on iPhones.

Gobrookeyourself · 07/05/2023 07:30

It’s blue so it’s iMessage. Does that make a difference?

@FawnFrenchieMum good thought, we have a couple of old iPads lying around but I don’t think iCloud is set up on them

Your phone is actually in your bed at night? Much more likely you've done something. Try not having it in the bedroom at night

isthismylifenow · 07/05/2023 07:32

Do these messages relate to you in any way? Wedding / gifts etc?
But yes, it's weird.

GayPareeee · 07/05/2023 07:38

If it's iMessage then itt could be sent from anywhere you've logged into you're super account, or could haver been hacked. I would change your Apple password if you can (and think about any browsers you may have been logged into).

If you scroll up are there messages that you definitely did send there in the danger thread too?

Gobrookeyourself · 07/05/2023 07:44

My phone is under my pillow at night, I highly doubt I’d unlock it and send texts in my sleep. None of it relates to anything to do with us (except the coronation obviously)

OP posts:
Gobrookeyourself · 07/05/2023 07:45

@GayPareeee all the other messages when you scroll up are ones I’ve sent, nothing else like this

GoodChat · 07/05/2023 07:48

Check what devices are linked to your Apple ID.

Necrotic · 07/05/2023 07:49

Could you have sleep text? It’s a thing apparently - a bit like sleep walking.

I once wrote a Facebook status saying I was having an affair with Ricky Gervais - had no memory of doing it - was mortified the next morning (to be fair I was drinking a lot back then 😂)

Onepotatotwopotatothreepotatofour · 07/05/2023 07:53

I’m not sure how this has happened but as a complete side point you really shouldn’t sleep with your phone under your pillow, or right next to your head at all!

VisionsOfSplendour · 07/05/2023 07:56

The messages don't read like a person wrote them, more like some kind of poor AI

There weren't big street parties anywhere yesterday were rhere?
