I’m wearing a shirt dress and tights. AIBU to expect better weather in May? It’s been the coldest Spring ever, off the back of a long, freezing Winter.

Sorry OP, but I think YAB a bit U! May can be very chilly, as indeed can June, July and August! This is the UK! Cool weather is completely normal. What's not normal is hot weather!

Gardening experts have always warned people not to plant out any frost-sensitive plants until June, because of the strong liklihood of frosts in May.

I can recall waking to frost on May mornings many, many times in the past. There have been several May Day bank holidays that have been very cold.

It's not summer yet though!

Hot weather certainly does often occur in the summer, but not reliably so and not necessarily every year.
