Take away woes

Usually when we order from our local and very good takeaway there is enough food for two greedy people to stuff their faces and one person ( me!)to have lunch the next day with the leftovers. Tonight I am on my own but fancied a takeaway , to be finished tomorrow. Here comes the woe.

They have hugely reduced the size of their containers (fully compostable , I said it was a good takeaway). I have eaten a lovely meal but there is barely enough for a snack tomorrow . 😟. Slight exaggeration.

It is all vegetarian, no meat involved, I know costs have risen and they need to make a profit but am a bit sad that I won’t be having next day take away lunches any more, and the next order will have to be padded out with extra naan to make it an adequate meal for two piggies.

I know, first world, entitled person problem. Just venting.

Haha I feel your pain! Last night DH and I ordered Indian and the tandoori chicken starter was literally 2 cubes of chicken and some fried onion 🤔
Not had it for a while but the last time we had it there was definitely a lot more chicken!

God yes I hate this whole thing of making everything smaller (while keeping it the same price or even increasing the price!)

I noticed this at my local before covid. They changed the 'main' containers to the sized they'd previously used for 'entrees'!. I thought maybe it was stock issue, gave them another chance- but no- the same tiny containers for the same price as before. I took pics and provided a balanced review, then found a new place to order from.

It must be even worse now with the cost of food/electric etc for restaurants. I now rarely get take away now.
