To make a crown with ears on?

NewtoHolland · 03/05/2023 18:55

We have to make crowns for school.
I have some very pink glittery card.
WIBU to adorn my daughter's card with huge pink glitter ears in tribute to the monarch? Or in this woke new world is this shaming the royal body?

Just help your child make a crown don't embarrass them

Bellybootcut · 03/05/2023 20:28

Well, it is a bit mean to take the mickmout of someone's big ears. They're might be a kid in the class with big ears and it could start something. I'd probably not!

Bellybootcut · 03/05/2023 20:29

*mick out of

EmmaEmerald · 03/05/2023 20:30

Mean, OP. Not just to Charles but big eared kids too.

ilovesooty · 03/05/2023 20:31

Hardly necessary and has the potential to embarrass your child and cause distress to others.

LlynTegid · 03/05/2023 20:31

Have some respect for the King and for anyone else with big ears. Let's not return to Tiswas in the 70s.

SnarkyBag · 03/05/2023 20:31

Does your dd want big ears on her crown or is mummy looking for a bit of “gosh aren’t I sooo funny” attention?

savoycabbage · 03/05/2023 20:31

Do you think the other children will understand the 'joke'? Won't your child have to say over and over again 'the king has big ears'?

ilovesooty · 03/05/2023 20:32

And you lost me at "woke new world".

ILikeTrueCrime · 03/05/2023 20:33

Please don't! Think of your poor child.

NotAnotherBathBomb · 03/05/2023 20:33

Not wanting to take the mick out of someone's appearance is woke? Ok.

SisterMaryLoquacious · 03/05/2023 20:35

It's an old fashioned joke now. Fifty years ago you might have looked at him and thought "blimey he's got big ears" but I don't think anyone under thirty would even get the reference.

Really. Quick be a total dick lest someone mistake you for a wokester.

SherbetDips · 03/05/2023 20:38

I’m not woke and I’ve a pretty thick skin. But that’s kinda vile and kinda teaching your kid to bully others.

LaLaLaNotListeningNotListening · 03/05/2023 20:40

YWBVVU.

HTH.

Kaaplumff · 03/05/2023 20:44

Encouraging your kid to make fun of other people's appearance. Classy.

Boxe · 03/05/2023 20:46

You’d be going this for your own benefit and not your child’s so I think YABU.

DidyouNO · 03/05/2023 20:46

How cruel. You're the parent teaching your child to point out other peoples physical attributes that n a negative way. That's called bullying and it's abhorrent!!

NeverDropYourMooncup · 03/05/2023 20:48

Well, it'll guarantee she won't ever trust you to 'help' her with anything again. Which might be a win in your book.

She'll just want a pretty, glittery crown like the other kids.

LaughableMonarchy · 03/05/2023 20:50

Can’t you seek attention in a different way? Preferably in a way that doesn’t involve your DD?

SalmonEile · 03/05/2023 20:54

what Do you think your child will think of the ears and showing up to school being the only one with ears on her crown ?
what will you say when she asks why you want to put ears on the crown?
unless of course she’s a huge fan of Dreamworks Trolls and thinks she’s going as queen poppy?

MrsKeats · 03/05/2023 20:54

Oh do grow up.

EvenHeathens · 03/05/2023 20:57

Commenting on or making fun of someone's physical attributes will make you look like a dick. It's 2023, no longer the mean girls era

vipersnest1 · 03/05/2023 20:58

What do you hope to achieve, @NewtoHolland?
That's if you even bother to come back to what I suspect to believe to be a goady thread - you can put me right on that on your 'return'.

Oysterbabe · 03/05/2023 20:59
