My parents love theirs.

Littlemousesing · 03/05/2023 08:09

I didn't spend that much.
I have mobility issues and it's the best thing I've ever bought.
You do have to tidy and it be clutter free and clear for it to work.
If you have pets it's even better, we get bucket loads of cat hair even when it looks clean!

Soonenough · 03/05/2023 08:18

They do work but at £499 it may include a lot of things that not everybody needs . Things like an app , special tracking features , etc. I have one that does the job brilliantly, even has a mopping feature than I got for £200 on Amazon.

Great. We're pretty tidy and not much laying around. I may just go for it! Two young kids and so I'm forever hoovering up food post dinner!

It's so nice to not have to get the hoover out !

Even DH who was hmm loves it.
The first few times I watched it as it needs to " learn" the rooms, gets stuck but now I do each room in the evenings on a set schedule.
It's got a boost button for spills like crumbs etc.
I wouldnt use it for dropped food or anything wet though.

Ooh give us the link please sounds amazing

Allthenaughtydogs · 03/05/2023 09:33

I got one for £100 on Amazon a few years ago. It doesn’t map out the floor, but it does a great job if you leave it to run randomly until it looses power (around 2 hours).
Better on hard floors.
I run him every day, sometimes twice a day.

CalistoNoSolo · 03/05/2023 09:46

I have two, one upstairs and one downstairs, and I didn't spend anywhere near £500 for both of them. I have Eufy's (Ripley and Hicks) and I totally heart them both. Ripley (downstairs) is around 3 years old , she is super easy to clean and does an excellent job. I wouldn't be without them.

CalistoNoSolo · 03/05/2023 09:47

Tbh a small dog would be more efficient at the post-dinner tidy up ;)

slamfightbrightlight · 03/05/2023 09:48

Agree with above, I wouldn’t spend that much on one and wouldn’t trust it to hoover up freshly dropped food (dried crumbs are fine). Our Eufy has been excellent so far.

lurkingfromhome · 03/05/2023 09:52

I like mine and it works effectively (Eufy - nowhere near £400 - I think it was about £120) but with several caveats.

If I use it in my kitchen/dining room, I need to move all the chairs and breakfast bar stools out of the way, lift the (floor-length) curtains out of the way, make sure there are no trailing cables (floor lamp, phone chargers etc) - basically give it a completely clear floor space so that it doesn't get stuck or tangled in anything.

Bedroom - I need to lift the bedside tables onto the bed, unplug everything so no trailing cables, curtains lifted out of the way, bedside rug moved etc. Again, I'd normally just use the nozzle on the regular vacuum cleaner to vacuum around cables, tables etc and move them around a bit as I'm doing it.

Often by the time I've done all this prep, I feel I could have had a quick spin round the room with the regular vacuum cleaner for the same effort or less. I must say it isn't quite the miracle worker I thought it might be.

Nordicrain · 03/05/2023 09:55

Yes, I think so. The more expensive ones generally have better suction power and, I think, better sw.

We have one, use it daily. We have one that "mops" as well as hoovers if we want it too, so while that doesn't replace cleaning entirely it means the floors are generally pretty clean.

Beaniesmumsie · 03/05/2023 09:58

I have that one, it’s amazing. It’s usually on sale on Black Friday if you can wait that long.

Way more expensive though 😂

I have gone for the EUFY ROBOVAC G40+

£110 off. So got it for £289!!

Fingers crossed as I'm hoovering every day at the moment!

It's basically the one that emptied itself into the compartment

Mine was... fine. As a top-up/in-between whizz around.

Check it will connect properly to your wifi. I had to ditch mine after I moved and we installed a mesh wifi system; the robot vac I had wouldn't work on a mesh system.

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 03/05/2023 10:15

I hope you like it, we've got 2 young kids and its excellent on hard floors for crumbs etc. I can schedule mine to hoover certain areas every day, ie, the kitchen and dining room after breakfast.

However, we have had an incident where it scared the cat out the litter tray, and well, just use your imagination!

Littlemousesing · 03/05/2023 10:27

Mine was £300 and has an app, scheduling etc
It's way better than I expected, feels like my house is clean all the time now.
We do a proper hoover behind bookcases etc once a month and the stairs.
I run it even when it looks clean and it's full of pet hair -great if you have allergies etc

Littlemousesing · 03/05/2023 10:27

Ps Dcat loves watching it 😂

SavBlancTonight · 03/05/2023 10:29

Yes totally worth it but not at that price. The £280 you've paid is a far more realistic price - although my current Eufy was, after discounts, I think £190 and it's amazing. MIL got a slightly less hardcore EUFY one, with discounts, for about £135.

Soonenough · 03/05/2023 11:09

It was a couple of years ago .

OldTinHat · 03/05/2023 11:23

Mine was £100 and mops the floor as well as vacuuming it. I love it!
