Child’s school place

I’m starting to worry as my DC was offered their school place via email from the council on 17th April but I’ve not yet heard from the school. Is this right or should I have received information by now?

Have you confirmed you want the place ?

Helloooh · 02/05/2023 09:38

@Needmorelego on the email it just said I will hear from the school or if I wish to appeal I can but there is nothing about having to accept the offer

We had a letter from the school last week so it may be that they’re just sorting their admin.

Needmorelego · 02/05/2023 09:39

Where I live you have to confirm.
Phone them asap.

PurpleFlower1983 · 02/05/2023 09:39

We didn’t have to accept either although I did click accept on the online portal. If you’re worried, give them a ring.

I wouldn't worry. Schools only get the confirmed details on the same day as you. They'll be having to do lots of admin to load everyone's details onto the system so they can send stuff out to the right addresses etc. I'd imagine in the next couple of weeks you'll hear something about a programme of activities.

GoodChat · 02/05/2023 09:40

We haven't heard from the school yet. I'm not going to worry until half term.

AlbaDT · 02/05/2023 09:41

Every school will do things differently. We have phoned every parent on the list to check they want the place.

Helloooh · 02/05/2023 09:43

Thank you. I’ve just checked the online portal and there is no option to accept the offer on there either so I will wait to hear from them
