So fed up of my flat stinking of pot/anti social behaviour

I live in a small block of flats. There's 12 of us, and until recently it's been fine. A new couple moved in and ever since its been hell. A few highlights-

-a screaming argument at 4am that turned physical and was so bad multiple police vans turned up. They have arguments at least once a week but usually more.

• their dealer accessing the flat courtyard by the back gate, threatening to put their windows in and screaming obscenities until he was dragged away by the police
• they sit and smoke pot in the communal area/stairs and it stinks to the point i dread bringing my kids in. They've just been smoking it and now my flat also stinks (for context, the front door is about 2m from my bedroom door and i can smell it in my bed.) If i dry anything innthe hall, it stinks too (to the point I was pulled aside at work about it!)
• they jam both the back security gate and the main (key fobbed) security doors open so their druggie mates can get in. I've had stuff stolen from my post box (they're locked but it was forced open)

I've just had to put my uniform back in the wash because I had the airer in the hall and it all stinks. I'm so fucking fed up of them being selfish and generally disruptive twats. I'm sick of ringing the police because they're fighting again or one of their mates is trying to break into the place. It's so bad I'm actually scared to be in the communal areas when they're in them.

Wibu to speak to to Thirteen? (Social housing, though in a smaller "decent/nice" area). I'm unfortunately not in a position where I could move. (pic is of my hall to show the space - please don't judge the carpet, I'm waiting for my new hoover to arrive!)

I think Keyans digs at the OP are because the OP lives in social housing.

You might have got our old downstairs neighbours OP I used to hear them shouting and throwing what sounded like furniture at each other at 6am. And their weed used to seep into my flat

Oh and the people who come on here (ive seen it before) telling SH tenants that we shouldnt "look down" on the tenants who smoke weed are the very thing that they accuse us of being

I really empathise with this - we had similar neighbours in a block of flats years ago. The smell of weed makes me want to throw up and it was constant all through the flats. We had elderly neighbours who were nervous to go out to the bins as there were random people and off-lead barky dogs in the communal areas pretty much constantly. We had doors propped open etc - all the same issues.

We reported a number of times to the police and landlord but nothing was done. We had to move out to a more expensive flat which was a real struggle for us. Sorry you are going through it - some people are just selfish arseholes and sometimes the only thing you can do is get away from them.

No idea how you can possibly see both sides here unless you are her junkie scuzzy neighbours. People are entitled to live in a decent place with their families. How frightening for her children living there now...drug dealers, police, junkies smoking in the hallway..screaming arguments in the middle of the night- would YOU really enjoy living like that?

I agree. I know pot smokers who claim they are not addicted and are just smoking for the medicinal benefits, but medicinal benefits or not it’s obvious they are seriously addicted.

It’s a bit weird that @Keyan thinks this behaviour is fine but on another thread tonight told an OP to call the police because her neighbours were drilling at 7.30pm

They really are the worst. They always claim it’s better than booze - BIL spouts crap about “no one ever died from smoking weed” and “it doesn’t affect me at all” yet cannot link his manic depression and serious paranoia to his weed smoking.

OP report it to the landlord/HA. Keep a diary and record everything and report to the police whenever you think necessary.

Idiot neighbours like op has don't care about anyone else because whatever they are doing, drinking, drugs, fighting, noise takes precedence over everyone else's right to a peaceful life. Unless you have lived it I think people think it couldn't be that bad. It is a living nightmare having to deal with these types.

I also think this is a thinly disguised Keyansier. He has some unusual views.
