Moustache ...

Just wondering what a Charles Bronson style moustache says about the wearer of such a look??

DS's teacher (age around 30), has just started sporting the Bronson moustache. I cant stand the bloke (he is quite shouty, has favourites, targets certain kids to constantly criticise etc.) and now just think he looks creepy!!

Anyway, anyone know what character traits lie behind this moustache?

Strange question, perhaps it simply means he likes that style of moustache?

What does your look say about you?

celticmamabear · 29/04/2023 00:50

I don't think it says anything other than they like that style of facial hair?

Kanaloa · 29/04/2023 00:51

I think it means he’s an arsehole. If he was a gentle, kind teacher who supported all his students it would mean he was sweet.

The facial hair means nothing. His behaviour means a lot.

Ellie450 · 29/04/2023 01:04

It means he’s a douche.

Well, actually the shouting and shitty teaching mean that but the moustache doesn’t help.

steff13 · 29/04/2023 01:09

It's facial hair. It does not denote any specific character traits.

DogDamIt · 29/04/2023 01:18

To be honest, if I didn't have my tach waxed regularly, I'd be sporting a Bronson tach too.
And I'm a woman!

NotMeSecretFormular · 29/04/2023 02:03

I don't have any natural eyebrows, so have to draw them on. What assumption would you draw from that? The other school run mums must be agog.
Are you always so invested in other people's facial hair?

DRS1970 · 29/04/2023 02:17

Do you mean Charles Bronson the actor, or Charles Bronson the infamous British prisoner?

The prisoner :)

Sorry!! I can see people think IABU to comment on his facial hair!! Being a bit judgey! It's just that a Charles Bronson tach is pretty statement making I think - it's pretty unusual for a 30 yr old so it feels like he's trying to make a statement! I was just wondering what statement people think he might be trying to make!? But if IBU to wonder then fair enough!

So he looks like the attached.

I wouldn't think anything! Probably wouldn't even notice :) But I think what you r describing is quite different from a statement moustache :)

I mean the glasses are creepy, but the mustache is fine. It's a pretty common style among hipsters here in the US.

Fair enough, OP. I apologise for the misunderstanding.

strawberryfluff · 30/04/2023 08:04

I don't think that style of moustache is fully associated with him. I do think it makes people look a bit of a nob though. Don't know why.

cushioncovers · 30/04/2023 08:08

I tend to think people with those moustaches are brave . It takes guts to walk around with that monstrosity on your face. Smile

JuneShitfield · 30/04/2023 08:09

You’re layering on meaning based on your existing thoughts about the man. In itself, the moustache means nothing. It just means he’s got some hair growing out of his face.

Humans are meaning-making machines. We look for patterns and meaning where sometimes there isn’t any. It’s normal — but it’s also erroneous most of the time.

waterlego · 30/04/2023 08:11

OP, I’m seeing moustaches a lot at the moment- they’re in fashion with the younger lot (30 is young).

NowZeusHasLainWithLeda · 30/04/2023 08:11

Moustaches are quite trendy at the moment.
Being a twat about people's appearance has never gone out if fashion.
