The stress of it! DH has had a referrral on the NHS Two week referral pathway for suspected cancer.

He had a letter with a leaflet about the Two week wait and to ring a number if not heard anything.

It's two weeks now and rang the number just to be told it has been rejected and returned to the GP for further information?

Sounds like the GP referral doesn't meet the criteria for a two week wait pathway. Speak to the Gp.

OK. We do have benenden health which can help it there is more than 3 weeks wait so could possibly use that. Just need to try and get hold of the GPs now.

I don't know what your referral is for but I work in oral maxillofacial surgery and lots of inept GP's send utter garbage on the 2ww to try and best the queue or to satisfy the patient instead of being sensible. We reject a lot.
Sorry it must be stressful.

We have a strict criteria to accept onto our pathway.
If we reject we write to the GP to explain why.

OK It's raised lymph nodes(a month now) and a rash in a patient on immunosuppressants which have a higher risk of lymphoma. Referral was to ENT. They want further info apparently.

Heard from the GPs that it has been resubmitted under 2WW and we will hear directly from the hospital now. Fingers crossed.

Makes you think of that advert with opening a box on TV, seems a bit ridiculous really.
