I've recently name changed due to keeping the old one for a while and a few identifying things I'd written, long time user.

I'm currently pregnant with baby no.2 and I keep getting asked this question.
The same when I was pregnant with our first, I was asked this about 3-4 times.

For context I've been with my fiance for 4 years, first pregnancy was 2 years into the relationship.
We were both early 30s and had planned when we were going to start TCT.
Same with baby no.2, we decided when to start trying.
We moved in together a year into the relationship.

Planned or not, obviously everyone's lives are their own business.
I just find it offensive when telling someone (usually work colleagues tbh) I'm pregnant that they then ask me if fiance is happy about it.

Bit fucking late if he wasn't isn't it.
I feel that it could even insinuate that I'd trapped partner and deliberately gotten pregnant against his will?
What's wrong with "congratulations"?
Am I being unreasonable to be offended?

I would say to them what do you mean? And then stare at them.

MIL asked this when we announced our second.

Also I dislike it when people ask “was it planned”

congratulations is enough 😃

yanbu to be offended

It’s probably because you’re not married tbh - nothing wrong with that but some people will assume it wasn’t planned

Just had my first - was asked plenty of times “was it planned”. We’d been married 10 months when we announced so no real argument for baby pre-marriage.

People are so rude.
I would literally just give them a hard stare if you can be bothered or just ignore if not
