To wonder how many threads are being started by Chat GPT?

I noticed on OLD a year or so ago that in conversation after conversation I was talking to some kind of automated bot. It put me right off. I keep wondering if it was an early form of chat got being tested.
Recently there are some threads that seem to be the very essence of Mumsnet complaints - but lacking a slight sense of self-awareness, whilst being very well written grammatically. The same sort of blandness that chat gpt answers have.
Not quite sure what my point is - did anyone else notice the bot thing on OLD?

ChatGP could definitely start threads that sound human, and fool a lot of us.

On some YouTube channels,. That my kids watch, one of the games they tried out was a AI girlfriend that was powered by ChatGP. The premise of the game is- you are being held hostage by your AI girlfriend and you have to try and escape the flat/ or get her to let you out.

And you could watch the conversations,.she could answer any question and has the whole of the internet at her disposal to answer any questions. Obviously there were some glitches, but it just shows you the potential of this technology.

Posts being very well written grammatically would certainly make me question whether they had been written by a Mumsnetter😉

Yeah especially if there isnt any autocorrect mistakes,.which seems to happen to nearly all of my posts.

I just asked Chat GTP to write the frothiest Mumsent post it could and it came out with this gem:

Title: Darling Dilemma: Quinoa Conundrum or Avocado Agitation?! 🥑😱

Hello, lovely Mumsnetters! 🌸🌸🌸

I'm in an absolute tizz! I simply MUST share this frothy tale of foodie woe with you fabulous ladies! 😭👩‍🍳

It all began with a dream to throw the most scrumptious and wholesome brunch for my darling Pippin's (DD, 4) preschool's PTA meeting. You know, the kind that screams 'super-mum' from a mile away. 😇🌟

Now, I've always been a firm believer in organic, fair-trade quinoa, harvested by Peruvian llamas (you know, the ones with the adorable little hats?). And avocado toast? Darling, it's practically my middle name! 🥑💚

But, oh, the drama! 😱

There I was, in my lovely, spotless kitchen, preparing the most divine organic quinoa salad with a sprinkle of pomegranate seeds, when I suddenly realised I had run out of avocados for the toast. I mean, who on Earth could even IMAGINE avocado toast without avocados?! 😭🥑

I dashed to the nearest Waitrose in a frantic frenzy, but alas, the avocados were sold out! All that remained were the pre-packaged guacamole pots, which, might I add, were not organic! 😩💔

My heart sank, and I was left in a quandary. To serve the quinoa salad without avocado toast or to serve avocado-less avocado toast? I fear I may never sleep again! 🥺💤

Dearest Mumsnetters, what would you do in my shoes? Could my reputation as the queen of PTA brunches be in jeopardy? 😔👑

Lots of love and fluffy frothiness, 💖✨

I'm not going to call ChatGPT as passing the Turing test yet. But I suspect it's not far off.

As a society we aren't prepared to cope with the implications. We already have too many people who are willing to base everything they believe and do on "bloke said" without a scintilla of proof. Imagine how much more weight a "ChatGPT says" argument would have to them ?

Me to ChatGPT: "Piss on my friends back and tell them it's raining".
ChatGPT: "OK"
Friend: "Hey, Jane, it's raining !"
