The less I want to interact with others, go too far from home or behave ‘properly’ for the benefit of ‘society’. I want to hunker down with my husband and please myself (and him if necessary although he is of a similar ilk). AIBU

Although I would never act in an asbo way, just keep myself to myself.

Yep. I hear ya 👍.

We are aboard on holiday at the moment and I think I could quite happily holiday nearer home from now on. Although one of my main complaints is as I am very very very fair, I can't be bothered with suncreaming myself from head to toe so I am hiding in the shade, however at my age I am enjoying a siesta 😀

Juanne · 25/04/2023 18:37

I got you sister. We decided to stay in for a few days after our last holiday seeing as it was so cold here in the UK. That few days turned into 10, as we enjoyed staying in so much.

Yep same here - I have retired -DH is retiring this year. We’re going to put a big sign on the gate saying P*ss Off 😂

It's your life do what you want.

Frankbutchersfangs · 25/04/2023 19:02

My best friends are my DH, sofa, chocolate, kindle and cat 🤣🤣🤣

YouAreNotBatman · 25/04/2023 19:37

I just need the husband or wife first, so I don’t have to go anywhere or bother with anyone else..

Until then, gotta socialise or I’ll be too alone / lonely.

Usuallytho · 25/04/2023 20:10

Ha ha, that’s just what we need!

I feel this too. A lot!

readingismycardio · 26/04/2023 10:15

I hear you and I'm only in my 30s😂 We do go on holiday a lot, but only the two of us. bliss!

lookingthroughthekeyhole · 26/04/2023 10:19

I was watching Hells Kitchen with dh and the winning team got to go to a party and the losing team had to stay and wash up.
I said to dh id rather stay home and do the washing up than have to go to a party and he agreed.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 26/04/2023 10:55

Same here, OP. Not so bad if we can drive, but increasingly I really hate all the faff and hassle of airports/planes. Dh still has itchy feet so although we do still go away together, he also goes now and then on his own - fine with me.
I used to love travelling but I do love my own bed now.

Usuallytho · 26/04/2023 18:50

I never imagined this would be a thing but quite honestly I feel it’s liberating to not have to ‘enjoy’ everything my holiday destination has to offer. My kids would be appalled if they were here. 😂
