I can‘t find DS‘s ID card. I keep all the important documents in a cupboard and it’s not there. The last time he used it was in October, for a school trip (proof of age). I‘m certain I would have taken it out of his rucksack when he came home, but must not have put it where it lives straight away.

He needs it tomorrow for another school trip. He will have to take his passport instead. We are going on holiday next week so if that passport gets lost, we won’t be going.

Where do things go when they get lost?

Bonus points if you have psychic ability 🌟

Kitchen clutter drawer?

DilemmaDelilah · 24/04/2023 17:15

It's in the little zipped pocket you overlook in because it is so difficult to get into/easy to overlook.

DilemmaDelilah · 24/04/2023 17:16

Bloomin auto correct! You never look in.....

Cantthinkofaname2203 · 24/04/2023 17:17

On the printer where you left it when making a copy?

VisionsOfSplendour · 24/04/2023 17:21

In the wallet he took that day?

I would be wary about sending a passport if you're going to be needing it for a holiday

I'm guessing you aren't n the UK can he prove his age any other way?

thaegumathteth · 24/04/2023 17:21

Could he take a photocopy of the passport tmro?

Ringshanks · 24/04/2023 17:29

Can you take a photo of the passport on his phone?

Monkeymonkeymoo · 24/04/2023 17:30

Is it stuck to something else? The static on plastic wallets always seems to attract cards.
I’d also check his wallet he and any pockets in the coat/bag he took. Also if you have a drawer or bowl where you put stuff like headphones, keys, loose change etc then that might be worth checking. And your own purse/bag (in case you took it off him on the way home to ‘keep it safe’).
Could you ask school if he can take a photocopy of his passport rather than the actual passport (assuming he’s not going abroad with school).

Yep, or in a jacket pocket that he hasn't worn in ages. It'll be hanging under a load of other tops and bags on the back of a door.

The clue being:
October

So it has been located! And this was the closest guess!

We were wracking our brains trying to think of when he has used it recently. He went to the cinema with his Dad two weeks ago and could have taken it to prove his age. But he didn’t.

I kept having visions of it being in the hallway cupboard. We pulled everything out and put away the winter stuff (two birds with one stone). There was some extra room in the cupboard, so I put my handbags away in there. As soon as I picked up my little handbag, I knew where it was. In the zipped pocket at the back.

It was in there because I took him to the cinema about 6 weeks ago and took it as proof of age. Not sure why I didn’t connect the dots when asking about his cinema trip with Dad!!
