Does anyone else think Iit seems like the police or whoever are getting more and more reluctant to share the breed of dogs in these tragic incidents?

I understand that any dog can cause injury but with these fatalities surely they should be sharing more information?

My foreign rescues are the most gentle sweet-natured dogs, despite being abominably treated by people. The problem dogs I know of are overbred designer dogs owned by idiots who haven’t got a clue. Ban idiot humans please!

Seriously, as a dog lover, keep your dog on a lead for everyone (including their) safety.

You have brought unknown dogs from foreign countries into the UK but diss UK bred cross breeds? Ok 😂

Explain why a cross breed would be any more likely to kill a human than an unknown street dog from abroad please? 🤔

Why have you bought a dog from abroad rather than adopting a dog from a UK shelter? This makes no sense 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you for your comments about Poodles and their purposes. I had been informed some time ago that the French used them to herd cattle and sheep. According to the owner of one in the UK the fancy trims started as a means of keeping them cleaner in the inevitable muddy conditions the worked in. As we know that got out of hand.
I bow the the accumulated wisdom of Mumsnet and remain neutral.

We regulate them. They have to be road-worthy (built to standard, checked annually once over 3 years old), lead was removed from petrol and now fully petrol cars are being phased out, high emission cars have to pay surcharges in an increasing number of areas. Plus drivers have to pass a test and comply with the rules of the road.

So yes, restrictions (not bans) could be the way ahead.

The problem is with the people - dogs like cars can be responsibly owned and handled. But there are people who are attracted to (insert name of currently notorious breed) and handle it so badly it poses a risk. And that is the root cause

The reason you see a high number of labradors isn't because they're secretly aggressive, it's simply because there are far more labradors than most other breeds🙄
